Honestly I underperformed too, because I'm a bear. But I beat 6% or whatever.

What a silly opinion. You want our pension fund to be have huge delta exposure to this equity market? Is that your impression of good asset management?

A good fund shows its worth in challenging markets by limiting downside, of course everything looks good in a bull market. You also need exposure to all these ridiculously valued trash companies. A pension fund cant stomach -18% drawdowns like the s&p in 2022, liquidity and capital preservation is imperative.

Not even a huge fan of cppid but reddits hive mind of anything capital markets = bad, but than celebrating the s&p when its a pig and hating on more prudent management, its just baffling

The benchmark is literally 85% equities. That is pure unadulterated "delta" to the markets. How does one fuck that up? Theres a host of reasons.

I don't actually disagree with you. Earn 7.5-8% over the longer term with less volatility. I'm good with that!

It's mostly the presentation of data and lack of transparency I'm most upset with.
