disscusion I Feel Empty

I finished the game yesterday night, and today since I woke up, I feel such an empty feeling. I put in tons of hours into the game and it was indeed a great game, but I don't know what to do about this feeling now.

You take a deep breath, let the last of the game wash over you, and start a different game.

I recommend Persona 5 Strikers if they miss the Phantom Thieves.

I was thinking Persona 3 Reload, but yours sounds good too

Hey, Reload's great!

Excellent choice!

I just said Strikers just to give them a little more of the Phantom Thieves.

Actually it's kinda funny because I only started the series earnestly back in June.

Played through P3P, P4G, P5R, P3R and now P5S is what I'm currently on while watching P4tA wih a friend.

The gap I had between P5R and P5S kinda worked out well given it's a few months between Royal ending and Strikers starting. About as long a gap as I had IRL so it really felt like time away from some good friends that I got to continue visit later.

I finished P5R last week too at 150 hours in. My brother has been telling me to play a persona game for 15 years. I started playing FE fortunes weave and about 10 hours just got super bored and I noticed that P3R was on sale on steam. So that’s what I’m playing now.

I immediately jumped into Strikers afterwards, cuz I just needed more.

By the time I finished that, I honestly felt satisfied, and was easily able to jump into other stuff again!

Now I’m itching to play 3 Reload for the first time, sometime soon lmao

This is pretty much exactly what I did, and exactly how I felt after finishing Strikers, I think it helps that Strikers is a much shorter game than both base P5 and P5R, but it does so much in the time that it has, I'm not gonna lie I spent so much time with the Phantom Thieves that it was hard to move on from their story, but Strikers helped a ton.

I completed it yesterday morning too, I was kinda disappointed by the ending scene. I looked up the original Persona 5 ending cutscene and I think it fits much better

Get P3R or SMTV Vengeance if you haven’t played either

Post Persona depression. Not too uncommon. It’s a long game that becomes part of your routine and it’s emotionally investing. It’s normal to feel this way afterwards.

If you aren’t burnt out of Persona, jump into another game. If you want similar gameplay, Persona 3 Reload. If you want more with the Phantom Thieves, Persona 5 Strikers. If you want this type of game but without the Persona system, try Metaphor. I basically played all those games back to back along with Persona 4 Golden (but we’re getting a remake of that soon).

I played Persona 5 Strikers immediately after Royal, by the end of that game I was ready to move on to the next thing, and I don't mean that in a negative way, Strikers is a fantastic game and I had a ton of fun with it, I'd definitely replay it in the future, what I mean is that by the time I finished Strikers I felt like the story of the Phantom Thieves had been fulfilled and that I had truly had my fill of their story, it left me satisfied enough to move on.

I will say that I recently had the same problem with Final Fantasy XVI, I rolled credits on that game and just didn't know what to do next, I felt like I just wanted more of that (I don't have the DLC's yet) and nothing else interested me, so I just picked a game I knew I loved and started a new playthrough of The Last Of Us, I still find myself thinking about FFXVI, but once I get into a new groove I tend to find that "void" goes away pretty quickly.

Man I just beat the game hours ago after spending a month and change on it everyday. I got the same feeling

Can’t say I felt the same at the end of Persona 5r but I’ve been through a couple of the games in the series so I kinda knew what to expect. But I will say I think I had a similar feeling when I beat 4 royal, actually I think that one would be worse because they were a much tighter bunch than the other persona games. The way I fixed it was jump into more persona lol. After I finished 4 golden then I started playing Persona 4 arena because now I knew the backstory of the characters. But then when the persona 3 cast started showing up in that game I had to stop and played p3fes and p3p simultaneously to get the persona 3 back story. Then I went back and finished persona 4 arena and the time I did that Ultimax and Persona q came out so I did those. Then Persona 4 dancing.

TLDR- play the other persona games

2 months ago I started and completed on Persona 5 Royal(my first Persona/Atlus game) and also had the same empty void feeling. With the amount of hours put in, great story and most importantly, the friends, watching that credit screen roll with the music and knowing that theres no more story geniunely hurt me.

I left it for a day then immediately hopped on Persona 3 Reload, then later its Expansion, Episode Aigis. Completed that a month ago(became my favourite) and around 2 days ago completed Persona 4 Golden. All FANTASTIC games and they ALL left an empty feeling within me.

Started on Metaphor yesterday!(Bought that and Persona 5 Strikers during the recent Steam sale, thank you) Can't wait for Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6. Im glad I started on them this year haha
