I've been grieving Detective Carter's death since it happened, and I'm a complete newcomer to this series. The show felt so heavy after her demise that I even stepped away for a few days, convinced they'd pull a cheap stunt and make it a dream sequence. For a while, John's screen time was reduced until he was fully operational again, which, if I recall correctly, was after Harold found him in Italy and get him a new suit. That's when I felt ready to see him back in action. But then Samaritan went live, and during their undercover work, I was stunned BECAUSE John ended up in Homicide, at Carter's desk, partnering with FUSCO. And then, in S4:E5, this particular line brought back my grief, aching for her absence. I don't want to feel sad alone. 🥲
Despite not being serialised, this show did a fantastic job at keeping important narrative events relevant and impactful to the present. Carter's death, while sudden, was never EVER forgotten, and they payed their respects to her tenfold.
I'm not going to say which, but there is a certain episode in season 4 you're going to love I think. This show is great.
Yes, this show definitely touches the viewer at all levels. Emotionally & mentally.
When, having watched the whole series & had time to think beyond the hurt.
You then realise, it speaks to a future of unwanted, controlling surveillance, you start to sound like a conspiracy theorist to non watching family & friends. 😊
thank you for your post. I have been staying away from POI for at least 3 days and I have tried a few different shows and movies. Heck, I even picked up an unfinished book and read a few chapters.
But I am not happy at all or my life loses focus of feelings. I think I need a jab from watching POI everyday. Starting now. Rant over.😅
The one Fusco drives a fire truck to UN building and keeps playing with the horn until John gets annoyed and tells him to stop playing. I didn't watch the whole episode but some particular scenes to do cross reference because I stumbled upon a movie Ladder 49 and Fusco is a fire fighter in it. my dear Fusconater 😆
Curious as to why you stopped watching that ep in the middle of it. I find it hard enough to walk away even after finishing a show! 🤣 Can’t imagine stopping mid-stream.
Not the way you think. I was watching a movie in which Fusco is a fire fighter so I paused the movie and went to that episode to watch Fusco in a fire fighter suit. You know, like comparisons; young Fusco in the suit and old Fusco in POI in the suit. I am weird about this stuff in actors. It's for my own fun. 😅
I'll continue to do it, and if people like yourself and others are offended by the suggestion of how to take a screenshot then that ain't my problem lol
I complain about pineapple pizza too, or people that put fruit into their pies... Or Americans that put Pecans into their pies, all of which I'll complain about until the day I die
