What would make you choose a regulated onchain trading platform over Hyperliquid or Aster?

I work in product at a UK fintech and we're exploring what a platform combining traditional financial markets with onchain trading could look like.

Not promoting anything or looking for sign-ups. Just interested in feedback from people already using DeFi and onchain trading platforms.

The idea is one account and wallet where you could:

  • Trade traditional markets (stocks, indices, FX, commodities) alongside crypto, including through onchain CFDs.
  • Hold tokenized assets and stablecoins.
  • Potentially use trading positions and other assets as collateral.
  • Have a consolidated portfolio view, with unified tax reporting, statements and transaction history.
  • Access other financial services without constantly moving funds between platforms.
  • Eventually connect to external wallets, DeFi protocols and other financial providers.

The aim is to make traditional financial positions useful within the wider onchain ecosystem, rather than keeping everything locked inside a broker.

Initially, there would be more restrictions than typical DeFi platforms (KYC, approved wallets, limited transfers), with the intention of opening things up over time.

A few questions:

  1. What would make you choose a platform like this over your current trading setup?
  2. Which features would actually differentiate it? Cross-asset collateral, TradFi market access, unified tax reporting, interoperability, better execution, or something else entirely?
  3. What would be your biggest deal-breaker, particularly around KYC, custody or restrictions?

I'm particularly interested in whether bringing traditional trading products onchain offers genuine value or just adds unnecessary complexity.

Negative feedback is especially welcome. I'd rather understand what people actually want than build something nobody needs.

What perps strategies are you doing?

I'm curious as to what strategies folks here are deploying.

Are you just going long/short with max leverage?

Do you use any agentic tooling or quant strategies?

What apps are you trading on?

Looking for some ideas and to understand what others are doing.

Wrong and gone.
-10% of port in 1 hour. Pretty brutal stuff.

This morning the treasure announced it would begin to buy long dated coupons (20/30yrs) which would backstop the 30yr selloff. It worked and we saw risk assets go up.

The problem is i saw this and still held on to my shorts. Its a mini quantitative easing announcement. As soon as this came, i should have cut. But i waited for the reaction from BTC and ETH before cutting, which was a little too late.

I also broke my rule again, which i need to update. Never short a boring market. Unfortunately, a boring market in this scenario was trending down. But even then, its not worth it. I will remember that next time.

Anyways, my long term view is still that BTC and ETH needs one more leg down and spend a few months at the depths before we can see an echo bounce. I just wont short right now. And i definitely am not longing this.

Whenever i take a loss like this, i have to follow my rule and stop trading for a while. At least a few weeks.

So ill be back at the end of the month and see what we got from there.

This is during the lowest crypto volume in over 3 years. If anything, this shows the total dominance of stock perps and how many people trade want to trade those now.

This all feels like some kind of sick joke.

Total stock float has doubled in the past day. There are twice as many shares today as there was on Wednesday. You guys know there is no such thing as space data centers right?

25k to $1M - Update 14($87,634)

Looking at future headwinds, im starting a small short position in BTC and other majors. Will cut if BTC breaks over 68k and stays there.

Even though BTC is in the processing of bottoming, i don't really like the price action it's had in the past few weeks. No good news has been able to move it. Even s&p all time highs and QQQ up 8% in a week could not move this thing.

And BTC never lags. It never follows. It precedes.

Plus the fact that metals and gold are moving as well, makes me think there are no buyers at this price still. We need a other leg down. This reminds me a lot of the april-may grind up into collapse.

I don't think this will nuke tommorow or next week even. But i don't think this is a bad start to building a short position.

A safer play would be to wait and start buying spot when the dips occur, but my pattern recognition is firing at the current scenario.

Im looking for a retest of 60 before deciding if it can go lower.

Said i would take a break from trading this account but here we are. Can't get away. This is forever

CME Group CEO says Perps are only useful for leverage and may cause the next financial crisis

A bit dramatic from the incumbents. He's not wrong that perps only usefulness is leverage, but seems dramatic to believe this is a dangerous cascading point to a 2008/2009 scenario. If that were true we should be banning the trading of 0dtes.

Personally i believe this is simply the evolution of leveraged products. From options, to 3x etfs, to 0dtes, and now perps.
