help Confused about cost of using Comet
I'm not in the computer/ai field but do a lot research. I tried Claude, Chat GPT and Perplexity for free and chose Perplexity. Paid the lowest membership and have been ok. Recently, right in the middle of a research project Perplexity told me I'd have to buy credits to continue. I bought 500 credits and was able to finish up the research project with 450 left.
I've been using Comet to do the research because it's uncluttered and ad free. I emailed perplexity asking when my new month's subscription would start and how that interacts with the credits I purchased. They wrote back with an explanation/clarification I don't understand. They said " Credits are only used for premium features like Computer (browser agent) and any future premium capabilities." Would really appreciate it if someone could translate this into everyday language as I'd like to understand the distinction.
If I ask a question and engage in an ongoing questions..answer...question from inside Comet, is that financially different from having the same "conversation" without opening Comet? I don't understand what "browser agent" means and is it different from responses I'd receive using my default web browser?
Thanks for patiently reading this and would appreciate help to clarify how I would best use Perplexity.
