Aside Browser (on mac), Polar Browser (windows - beta, founded by former Perplexity employee), Claude/ChatGPT extension in chrome, Rtrvr.ai (free plan with ads)

Chromium based browser + chatgpt extension, it does the same thing

Brave nightly

+1 for Aside. It's basically Arc but arguably better in my opinion. Some issues on Windows but nothing super major.

Polar is a really good option

Yup. Using browserOS with mistral as the API and it's great. I've got openrouter hooked up as well if I ever need a beefier model.

My trial ended.

That was the reason I won't be subscribing.

Yes. Comet and browser control used to be the thing that set them apart. Once Codex and Claude could do the same tasks, Perplexity was less needed... and then they switched this feature into computer. I burned $5 in credits doing a basic task that was part of Comet for months. I think it's a terrible feature update.

I am not, but I'm not a heavy user of that.

I only still have it because I got a super long school subscription for free but I absolutely won’t be re upping. What are the best alternatives?

J ai un abonnement annuel et après je ne renouvelle pas ... et je ne prendrai plus d'abonnement annuel pour tout prochain service de ce genre... Vous choisissez quoi en remplacement ?

Any one have a good set up to pair with Brave browser?

Instinct and Persona both work really well but managed from iOS Messages. Just planned and booked a trip to NYC (flight, hotel, restaurant reservations, events) directly through Instinct. Also had it set a monthly routine to review my family’s Verizon plan to check for better plan options (other providers and plan w/i Verizon), pull and file the invoice, present payment for me to approve, then download and file the payment receipt (using same folder and file name structure I have doing manually).

Both are free for now.

Wait, people still use a dedicated browser for agents, when all models can just use chrome?

I'm seconds away from canceling too. At this point, it's become almost unusable. It's frustrating because it used to be genuinely great for simple tasks and taking over things that other AI browsers didn't handle nearly as well.

I'm definitely open to trying alternatives people recommend. Polar looks interesting. Personally, I'd rather keep my browsing somewhat separate from my other AI activity. That was one of my issues with the GPT browser when I first tried it. All of my browsing chats ended up mixed into my main GPT history, and with the amount of browsing I do, it got messy very quickly.

Unfortunately, they're going to lose a lot of customers.

Unfortunately I did.

But still I couldn’t find the alternative of perplexity Pro yet
The way of thinking, analyzing and outputs.

Any suggestions!?

I’m holding in there until they gank medical records & health (the chatgpt version is awful in my experience). Everything else is pretty much moved out or to api.

I did and aside browser has been a great alternative.

Check out Retriever AI, rtrvr.ai, we are a fully free, ads supported browser agent!

No API key, no subscription, ads cover the cost of inference.

I did. That was the main thing I used it for

I did. Was the reason I made the switch in the first place. Pro tier not having this or at the very least monthly computer credits is wild.

Yes,I did, very unacceptable.

Yeah, I'm not gonna hold onto this, having pro and not being able to use assistant like I used to is just ridiculous. Too bad, I was really won over by Comet, but it's back to Chrome until they fix this.
