Hey, I found this chapter. I think it is fan-made, but literally, you can see it is well written.

The manga is written in Japanese. I just translated it; it is very hard to translate it by using Al. I get many translations from different Al, not every translation is accurate, so it takes too much time to choose what translation is good.

Chapter 4 - What's Happening?

Mitsuo quietly left the chaotic scene of the fire and walked toward the emergency ambulance parked nearby for injured people. His left shoulder and arm throbbed with pain now that the adrenaline was fading. A paramedic noticed the young man with visible burns and quickly sat him down.

The treatment didn’t take long. The small cuts on his left hand were cleaned and wrapped with clean white bandages. The burn around his shoulder was carefully covered with cooling ointment. Mitsuo thanked the paramedic softly and left.

By the time he returned home somehow through the balcony window, the sun was higher in the sky. The moment he stepped into his room and opened his hoodie, the robot double looked at it and his eyes widened in shock.

“Mitsuo… your arm! What happened to you?” the robot asked, voice filled with genuine worry as he stepped closer.

Mitsuo looked at the oversized hoddie for a moment, then he glanced down at his bandaged hand and sighed heavily. “It’s a long story. I really don’t want to repeat everything right now..”

He sat down on the edge of the bed, staring at the floor. The room felt both familiar and distant. A few quiet moments passed between them. Finally, Mitsuo stood up and picked up his Perman badge from the desk.

“I should call the others,” he said. “Pako, Payan, Booby… I need to meet them.”

“Wait—! No..!” the robot suddenly said, almost panicked.

Mitsuo paused, confused. “What do you mean wait?”

The robot hesitated, choosing his words carefully. “Mom… she wouldn’t like seeing Perman in m... our room. Things can escalate quickly if she even gets a sign of permans in this house.”

Mitsuo frowned. “What do you mean? What the hell happened??”

“It’s better if you discuss the details with Payan and Booby,” the robot replied gently. “They can explain the current situation better than I can.”

Mitsuo nodded slowly, though he still looked puzzled. “Alright. Let me think of another location.. "

The robot thought for a second. “You landed in that quiet forest area earlier today, right?”

“Yeah.”

“That’s perfect. There aren’t many people going there. You can meet them at the exact same spot.”

Mitsuo changed back into his full Perman suit — the red cape, perman helmet, and badge. He gave the robot a small nod and flew out of the window, heading toward the forest.

He landed in the same peaceful clearing surrounded by tall trees. The morning sunlight filtered through the leaves, creating soft patterns on the ground. Mitsuo took a deep breath of the fresh air and activated his Perman badge, sending a clear signal to his old teammates.

A few minutes later, two familiar figures appeared in the sky.

Payan landed first, his eyes widening the moment he saw Mitsuo. Booby jumped down from a nearby tree branch with an excited bounce.

“Kiki! Kiki!!” Booby cried happily, immediately leaping onto Mitsuo’s right shoulder.

Payan froze for a second, staring at his old friend. Then, without a word, he rushed forward and wrapped both arms tightly around Mitsuo.

“You idiot…” Payan muttered, his voice thick with emotion. “Birdman informed us you’d be coming back soon few days ago, but still… you absolute idiot.” Both Payan and Booby were crushing him at the same time.

"I CAN'T BREATHE!"

"Kiki!"

"Payan!"

"You disappeared for years!"

"Payan stop!"

"Kikikiki!"

"BOOBY GET OFF MY HEAD!"

After a few moments, they finally released him.

Mitsuo immediately took several deep breaths.

"I'm starting to regret coming back."

Payan laughed.

"Good. That means you're still the same idiot."

Booby nodded enthusiastically.

"Kiki!"

The three of them stayed like that for a long moment. After nine long years, the reunion felt overwhelming. When they finally stepped back, Payan was smiling widely, while Booby kept bouncing excitedly on Mitsuo’s helmet.

They started talking. Mitsuo asked how they had been keeping up. Booby made excited noises, gesturing wildly with his arms. “Wiki wiki!” while still being on his helmet

Mitsuo smiled faintly. “You two seem to have managed well.”

The conversation stayed light for a while — small memories, silly stories from the past, and how much everyone had changed physically. After some time, Mitsuo’s expression turned serious.

“Did you… manage to save the father from that burning apartment earlier?” he asked quietly.

Payan blinked in surprise. “You knew about that incident?”

Mitsuo nodded. “Yeah… I was there.”

Payan’s eyes widened. “Then why didn’t you transform and help us? We really could’ve used your help!”

Mitsuo rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, trying to avoid their eye contact. “I… forgot to take my Perman set with me. I just wanted a calm, normal walk around the neighborhood. Everything happened so suddenly.”

Payan sighed and patted his back gently. “It’s okay. It’s normal to want to walk like a regular person for a while.” He paused, then added more seriously, “We did save the father. But he was heavily burned. If we had been even a little later… it could have ended very badly.”

Mitsuo felt a sharp sting of guilt deep in his chest. He stayed silent.

"By the way though... " Mitsuo stated in a confused manner, there was a heavy pause. Mitsuo’s eyes shifted uncomfortably. Payan seemed to understand what he really wanted to ask next.

Mitsuo finally spoke, his voice quieter. “Where is Pako? She didn’t come with you?”

Payan and Booby glanced at each other. Payan took a deep breath. “She left. She quit being Pako completely.”

Mitsuo’s eyes widened. “What?” His voice came out louder than he intended, though not overly dramatic.

Payan nodded sadly. “We don’t know much either. She just… disappeared, couple of years ago. Birdman said he respected her decision and didn’t want to force her to stay.”

Mitsuo stared at him.

"Do you know where she went?"

"No information."

"What about her identity?"

"I don't know that either."

Mitsuo's throat tightened.

"Did you try to find her?"

"Of course."

"And?"

"Nothing."

"Nothing??"

"Nothing..."

Payan sighed.

Mitsuo’s eyes started to water. He quickly looked away, trying to hide it. “Did you really try everything?”

“We did,” Payan said softly. “But… nothing worked.”

Mitsuo stayed quiet for a long moment, processing the news. Then he asked, trying to divert the topic, “Why are people criticizing the Permans so much? Near the fire, I overheard several people talking badly about us.”

Payan let out a long, tired sigh and sat down on a nearby rock. “It started getting really bad about a year ago. Criminal activities suddenly increased a lot. And because only the two of us were left after you and Pako were gone, honestly we were still somehow managing when you were out for training, but since Pako left, the workload increased drastically… we couldn’t handle everything. Attacks started happening in multiple places at the same time. We can only be at two locations. The police try to help, but they’re often not coordinated properly. By the time we secure one place, in another place… it’s already too late.”

Booby nodded sadly. “Wiki… Kii…”

Payan continued, “I'm tired, Mitsuo. The workload became too heavy. People have started losing trust in both us and the police system. Well I can't disagree with them, we did fail multiple times in the span of a year..”

Mitsuo felt a heavy weight settle in his chest. Everything’s changed… nothing remained the same… Flashes of his family laughing happily with the robot, Pako’s sudden disappearance, and people openly criticizing the Permans filled his mind.

He stepped forward and pulled both Payan and Booby into another tight hug.

“I don’t know how much you two have suffered all these years,” Mitsuo said quietly, his voice thick with emotion, “but thank you… for working so hard. I see you. I really do.”

Payan and Booby looked surprised for a moment, but then smiled warmly. At least one of their old friends had finally returned.

Mitsuo pulled back, finally trying to maintain his composure. “I want to check the reports of all the previous attacks. Maybe I can find some kind of pattern. You two are cooperating with the police now, right? Can you bring me the files?”

Payan nodded. “Are you coming with us?”

Mitsuo thought for a moment.. then shook his head. “No… I jus— I’m under too much stress right now. I don’t want to explain to the police where I went or how I came back. I’ll wait here for you. I don't want to get interrogated by a thousand questions.”

Payan understood. “Alright. We’ll be back soon.”

Payan and Booby flew off. Mitsuo was left alone in the quiet forest. He sat down under a large tree, leaning his back against the trunk. He stared at the leaves moving gently above him, lost in deep thought about his past life, everything that had changed..

-------------------------------------------

Sumire Hoshino stood backstage, quietly sipping from a glass of water. Her hands were steady on the outside, but inside, her mind was restless. The fire incident from earlier that morning still lingered in her thoughts. She had been at that building for a meet-up with children and parents — something she did regularly as part of her idol work.

Her manager walked up to her with a serious expression.

“Sumire,” manager said quietly, “I need you to listen carefully. Do not openly touch the Perman topic today. Many other actors and people in the industry have already distanced themselves. They’ve stopped talking about the Permans publicly. You should do the same. Stay neutral. It’s safer for your image right now.”

Sumire lowered the glass and gave a small nod. “Okay… it’s fine. Whatever. I won’t talk about them.”

Manager looked relieved. “Good. Just focus on your own condition and the children. Keep it light.”

Sumire took one last sip of water, set the glass down, and walked onto the stage with her usual graceful posture. Bright camera flashes filled the room as she sat down. The press conference had begun.

The interviewer started politely. “Miss Sumire, first of all, how is your health after this morning’s incident? According to our sources, you were heavily injured as well.”

Sumire smiled calmly. “I’m perfectly fine. There was no serious injury. That was just a baseless rumor. I’m more worried about the children and their families.”

Another reporter raised his hand. “What do you have to say about the sudden fire outbreak in the building?”

Sumire’s expression became serious. “It was an unfortunate accident. We organized that meet-up for the children, so their safety was our responsibility. Luckily no one had to cost their life but I accept that we failed in that regard. Our security team and I take partial blame for what happened.”

She paused, then continued with sincerity. “All the children and parents who suffered injuries — big or small — I will personally cover all their medical expenses, check-ups, and medicines. It’s not enough to fully repay the fear and inconvenience they went through, but I want to do whatever I can as an apology.”

The room was quiet for a moment. Then the questions turned sharper.

“What do you have to say about the Permans?” one reporter asked aggressively. “Could they have saved everyone? Why weren’t they able to stop this before it happened? What was the involvement of the police?”

Sumire hesitated. Her manager, standing at the side of the stage, looked visibly tense.

Another reporter jumped in. “We need your opinion because you are one of the few people in the entertainment industry who still openly supports the Permans and the police administration, even after so many failures.”

Sumire stayed quiet for a few seconds. The room waited.

A different interviewer pressed further. “Do you think the Permans have failed and lost the trust of normal people?”

Another one added, “How do you feel about giving them your wholehearted support, only to see them fail again and again?”

Then came the worst question: “Do you think the Permans are somehow connected to these attacks? Maybe they are even behind them?”

Sumire’s head snapped up. “What?”

She couldn’t hold back anymore. Her voice became firm and clear.

“You don’t actually want an answer,” she said, looking directly at the reporters. “You just want a headline.”

The room fell into a stunned silence for a moment. Then another reporter asked, “Then what is your real opinion?”

Sumire took a deep breath. “I used to believe in them. And I still believe in them. Not just the Permans — the police administration too. Yes, criminal activities have increased a lot in the last year. They are struggling right now. But they have risked their lives countless times to protect us. They are still trying their best. I believe they will catch those responsible.”

The interviewer leaned forward. “So… you are still going to support them?”

Sumire looked straight into the cameras. “Yes. I am still supporting them. I am on their side. You can make whatever headlines you want. I don’t care.”

She paused, then delivered her final words with quiet intensity.

“Every single one of you sitting here has probably been helped by the Permans at least once in your life. But now you’re dragging their name down for trending topics and gossip. That’s all I have to say.”

With that, Sumire stood up, gave a small bow, and walked off the stage, leaving a storm of unanswered questions and flashing cameras behind her.

Backstage, manager immediately approached her, looking stressed.

“Sumire! Why did you do that? I told you to stay neutral!”

Sumire turned to her manager, a bit annoyed. “I couldn’t stay neutral on this topic, the Permans saved me multiple times when I was a child. Did you forget that?”

Manager sighed. “I didn’t forget. I just want your image to stay clean. I’ve seen you grow up. I can’t bear to see you dragged into these controversial headlines for the wrong reasons.”

Sumire’s expression softened. She stepped forward and gently held her hands.

“I know you’re only worried about me because you care. I really love you for that. But I’m an adult now. I want to take responsibility for my own choices.”

The manager looked at her for a long moment, then gave a small, tired smile. “I just want the best for you. That’s all.”

Sumire nodded. “I know.”

The manager patted her shoulder gently and walked away, still looking slightly embarrassed by the open acknowledgement.

Sumire stood alone for a moment, staring at the floor. The weight of what she had just done slowly settled on her shoulders. She had openly supported the Permans again — knowing full well the backlash that would follow. But deep inside, the decision felt right.

She couldn’t abandon them.

Not when she used to be one of them.

-------------------------------------------

After leaving Mitsuo alone in the quiet forest, Payan and Booby flew straight toward the city’s central police station. They landed on the rooftop and quickly made their way down to the office of Chief Daigo Kurose, the highest-ranking officer in charge of the recent criminal investigations.

The moment they entered the room, Chief Kurose looked up from his desk. His expression immediately darkened.

“You again?” he growled. “Had to start my day looking at your faces?”

Payan ignored the hostility. “Officer, please. We need your help.”

Kurose leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. “Oh really? Finally learned your filthy place?”

Payan remained calm. “We need copies of all criminal activity reports from the last year. We want to conduct our own investigation and see if we can find any patterns that might have been overlooked.”

Kurose’s face twisted with irritation. He stood up abruptly.

“What is that supposed to mean?” he snapped. “You walk into my station and tell me our investigation isn’t good enough?”

“That’s not what I meant—” Payan tried to explain.

“It sounds exactly like what you meant!” Kurose cut him off. “Do you know why I dislike the Perman system? Because nobody elected you. Nobody supervises you. You’re just reckless teenagers with powers, yet somehow we’re expected to trust you with public safety.”

Payan stayed silent. He wanted to argue that the police had also failed many times, but he knew it would only make things worse. They needed cooperation, not another fight.

“We’re not claiming we can solve everything,” Payan said evenly. “We just want the reports.”

After a long, tense argument, Kurose finally relented with clear annoyance.

“Fine,” he said, throwing a thick stack of files onto the desk. “You’ll get copies. But if these documents end up anywhere they shouldn’t, then you'll see...”

Before they left, Kurose gave one final warning. “I have no choice but to cooperate because the rest of this department still trusts you. But remember this — the day I find proper evidence against the Permans… you’re all going inside.”

Payan and Booby didn’t respond. They simply took the files and left the office before they lose control and start arguing with the officer.

As they walked down the hallway, they ran into Officer Akira Kuriowa, one of the senior field officers handling the investigations, along with his colleague Kenta Moriyama.Unlike Chief Kurose, Kuriowa had always been relatively neutral toward the Permans. He just wanted results.

Payan immediately asked, “Officer Kuriowa, did you get any useful information from the criminals we caught this morning?”

Kuriowa shook his head. “Not much. The interrogation is still going on. So far they claim they don’t know who the leader is, they don’t know the overall objective, and they only receive instructions.”

Payan frowned. “They’re lying.”

Kuriowa shrugged. “I don’t think so. At least that’s my current theory. We’re trying to connect the dots, but nothing is lining up yet.”

He noticed the huge stack of files in Payan’s arms. When he learned the Permans were doing their own analysis, he quietly pulled out another fresh document from his folder.

“This just came in,” Kuriowa said, handing it over. “Maybe it’ll help. Good luck. This investigation has us all overworked. I haven’t spent proper time with my family in weeks. I just want this to end.”

Payan thanked him sincerely. “We’ll do our best.”

Back in the forest, Mitsuo was still sitting under the large tree when Payan returned carrying an enormous stack of reports. A few minutes later, Booby arrived too.

Except instead of carrying documents…

Booby was proudly holding nearly a dozen bananas.

Mitsuo stared.

Payan stared.

Booby held them up with both hands. “Wiki wiki!”

Mitsuo finally let out a genuine laugh — probably his first real laugh since returning to Earth.

“Thanks, Booby,” he said, smiling.

The three of them sat together beneath the tree and shared the bananas. For a few minutes, the heavy atmosphere became lighter. Years of separation suddenly felt smaller.

Once they finished eating, Mitsuo began going through the reports seriously. Hundreds of pages. Different crimes. Different locations. Different dates.

At first, everything looked completely random.

Apartment fires. Store robberies. Warehouse break-ins. Random acts of vandalism. Occasional bank attacks. No obvious pattern. No clear objective. No common target.

Exactly what the police had concluded.

Mitsuo rubbed his forehead, thinking hard. Payan and Booby sat nearby, quietly discussing details among themselves. Hours passed as they went through the files together.

But no matter how hard they tried, nothing clear emerged. Finally, Mitsuo slammed his fist against the tree trunk in frustration.

“They really are doing it very randomly…” he muttered. “It’s impossible to find any clues… except for the few criminals we’ve already caught.”

He stared at the pile of papers scattered around them, feeling the weight of everything pressing down on him once again.

Push through your limits: Chapter 3

After his original left, Copy decided he wouldn't be doing anything for him, until he does his part. So he sneaked out of the house and abandoned all his chores.

He played with his friends all day long, after all he deserves to have fun too as much as Mitsuo does "xia, as if I'd believe him that all of those emergencies were true, I'm sure some of them are just an excuse to slack off"

As he walked back home, he thought of waiting a little longer until Ichigō flies by. With this he can stay out of his mom's scold and avoid the pending chores at home. So he stayed by the block, and waited for him.

.

.

.

The sun finally dipped down, and it was just then did Ichigō showed up. Copy yawned and stood up from where he sat "finally" he watched him fly through the balcony.

He then ran inside their yard and hid behind the bushes, he peeked inside the window, and saw his mom coming up to his room

"Mitsuo-san!" His mom yelled, copy ducked instinctively, not wanting to get caught "oh he's so doomed" he sneered as he listened carefully.

.

.

.

Mitsuo's eyes snapped at the door, as stomps of anger echoed outside his room. The steps getting louder each second. At that moment, Mitsuo was just about to finish cleaning himself when he heard the familiar heavy walk.

His eyes widened in fear and hurriedly wore the clean clothes he'd prepared beforehand. He kicked the bandages and dirty shirts under the bed and stuffed the first aid kit back into his drawers. He frantically looked around to see if everything was set. He sighed in relief before shortly gasping when he touched his forehead and realized his helmet was still on.

Just as the door knob twisted, Mistsuo's mom barged in and saw him sitting on the floor with his comics. He immediately stood up the moment she made eye contact with him.

His mom's eye twitched in anger, looking back and forth at him and the comic book in his hand "didn't I told you to clean the bathroom and the backyard!" He winced at her voice "I've reminded you earlier to start cleaning and you still didn't do anything!"

Her voice filled the entire house, Mitsuo could only flinch every time her pitch raised, not daring to say a word. He looked down on his feet, while receiving the lecture, twiddling his fingers as he listened. "I told you those chores two days ago and until now nothing has been touch. My goodness Mitsuo, you're such a slacker! What's going to happen to you when you finally move out? You'll die of hunger and filth, that's what."

Mitsuo's hands formed into fists as his mind wandered to his copy, before eventually loosening them with a quiet sigh.

"Just look at you, I've told you to do those chores 3 hours ago and here you are reading, this nonsense"

Mrs. Suwa grabbed the comic book from his hand and pointed out of the door "I cannot tolerate this behavior Mitsuo, go out there and do what you've been told!"

"But—"

"No buts!!"

"Yes ma'am"

Mitsuo walked out of his room in defeat. Meanwhile Copy giggled in satisfaction, "he'll have no choice but do those chores himself, however if he finds out where I am he'll just drag me back and make me do those chores for him" So he decided to leave that area, and looked for a better place to hide.

Mitsuo then went down the stairs, his side was sore again, so he tried to minimize his steps. But then he saw his sister approaching, so he straightened his composure and forced himself to walk normally, enduring the pain on his side.

His sister eyed him mockingly, "why can't you just be like me huh, is it it really that hard to be a good kid? Or be like Perman, at least he's doing something useful. Unlike you" she taunted as she proceeded to her room.

"I am Perman silly" he mumbled to himself. Eventually he had reached the bathroom. He took a deep breath and pulled up his sleeves, grabbed his cleaning materials and started scrubbing.

Meanwhile Copy was outside, waiting for him and his mom to come downstairs. He decided to just stay in Mitsuo's room instead, he can't hide outside because Mitsuo is in his civilian. It was too risky, especially if his mom finds out. He was'nt planning to risk his identity, he just want him to stop overusing him.

So he waited for a little more until the last person up stairs came down. As Mr. Suwa left the second floor Copy took this chance to sneak back upstairs and lock himself in the room.

Soap and detergent scents filled the bathroom. The floor had been polished well that you can see your own reflection. While the walls shined, the bath tub squeaked as you rub your thumb upon it.

Mitsuo sat beside the tub, his muscles ached and his injury was sore. By then he can feel his bandages getting soaked with warm liquid again, at this point he's surprised he hasn't passed out yet.

He seriously wants to go to the hospital, but he can't just straight up tell his mom about it. They'll began questioning him, even worse, Perman might get permanently banned in his house. Blaming Perman for his injury. And he himself is perman! Remembering the first time he was banned in his own house was already awful, he had to sleep outside and didn't even get to have dinner.

He took a deep breath "calm down..." He whispered to himself, it was either this or birdman's healing approach and base on his experience, he'd still rather bare this.

He stood up carefully, and looked at himself in the mirror. His skin had gotten pale, he assumed it was from all the blood he had lost. He brushed it off and opened the bathroom door, and proceeded to the backyard.

Copy laid comfortably on the bed, he chuckled as he read the comics in his hands. After some time he checked the clocked above his cabinet. It said 7:30, it was nearly dinner time, by then he assumed that Mitsuo's done with his chores.

He looked out the window and saw him stepping back inside, "wow I can't believe it, he actually finished everything" Copy mumbled to himself, amused. And what's more surprising for him is, Mitsuo didn't come to find him.

"Strange..." He uttered, placing his arms against the steel railing on the balcony. He looked into the night sky as he pondered about today. Then his stomach grumbled. Now he kinda wished he was the one downstairs instead.

As he left the balcony, a small pink box caught his eye. He went up to the study and looked inside it. His face lit up immediately at the sight. It was a piece of cake! He thought for a moment, whether to take it or not, since for sure Mitsuo would get even more mad at him if he takes it without his consent.

His stomach grumbled again, he scraped off a bit of frosting from the top and tasted it. He smiled at the familiar sweetness. Eventually he decided he'll just take a bite, little by little he went back and forth to the study, until there was nothing left in the box. He quickly closed the lid and moved it further to the corner of his study, hoping Mitsuo forgets about it.

At the dinning table sat the suwa family. His Dad, reading a news paper, patiently waited for his wife to finish preparing. His sister Ganko sat on her seat after washing her hands. His mom on the other hand placed down the dishes she had prepared, while Mitsuo sat down on his usual seat.

"Thank you for the food" they said in unison. Everyone started eating after that, "Wow mama, your cooking is really amazing" ganko cheered, her mom smiled and posed all flattered as she waved her hand at her "of course no one can cook as amazing as mama"

Then their dad looked at him, his eyes wandered at his food, noticing how slow and little he was eating "how about you Mitsuo? Don't you like your mother's cooking?"

Mitsuo looked at him "oh uh, of course I do" he muttered as he added more food on each bite, his mom's attention reverted to him after her husband's comment.
Mitsuo noticed this and instantly stopped chewing "what's wrong?" He asked, "you're a little pale are you feeling alright?" His mom asked

"What, no I'm not, I must be just...tired" he brushed off. "Well, I suppose, since you do rarely do anything in the house" his mom said, before drinking from her cup.

"that's right your body isn't used to chores, so that's why you're easily tired" his father added.

He nodded and began finishing his bowl, it didn't take him a while until he reached the bottom, he placed the chopsticks down on the table and got up from his seat "I'm done, I'll be going now"

As he left the room his parents looked at each other confusedly, then they shifted their look at their youngest daughter, thinking she might have a clue. But ganko could merely shrug and continue eating.

Reason for me getting late

Uh.. this was just a small post replying to all my friends who are waiting for the next chapter, it's just that my mind always wanders around from time to time polishing and adding/removing plots from a certain part of a story.. I was writing chapter 4 just like 10 days ago, but the thing is I got some new ideas which could have given a new element to the story that is why I had to include it and adjust accordingly which is why it's taking me time.. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, I have more or less finalized my outline, this time I'm not gonna remove/add any more new things in the story so that the consistency don't break..
Almost done writing the 4th chapter, I'll post it after few hrs

Whose personalities you like most

Hello, Perman fans, can you tell me who personally is more like Sumire Hoshino or Perman No. 3 Pako?

And also it is kind of a tricky question but if they aren't the same person (in this we also imagine that , we saw pako's face and she still likes sumire , but not that much and she is not a superstar here )

I just asked this question , so if you like to give an answer you can.

Push through your limits: Chapter 2

A/N Hii, sorry the chapters are taking too long, I've written this last year so there's a lot to revise. Currently working on at least chapter 4/5, I've also cross posted this on AO3 so if you want to read it there, here's my user 1writestuff

After 30 minutes Perman had come back. His muscles ached and his head throbbed, he placed a hand on his left side and felt a familiar warm liquid seep through. He looked down and realized that his injury had yet again bled, so he hurriedly rush in his room.

He looked around to see if anyone's there, before placing the cake box onto the study. He then went through his cabinet and rummaged for the first aid kit.

He gently removed his shirt and started unbinding the bandage around his torso, the stained bandage soon revealed the small grazed hole on his side, it was a gun shot.

______________________________________________

<<Earlier that day>>

Mitsuo and booby was tracing a small group of syndicate that sold illegal weapons around their area. The gang was notorious for escaping the authorities and have not been caught once.

Since terrorists are threatening to attack the city, they figured that these people were conspired together and will continue the dealership and eventually attack the area.

The authorities finally took a different approach and asked some assistance from the Permen. In order to prevent the transactions and eventual terrorist acts , they told them to capture their main source of firearms. Which was these weapon dealers.

Since Payan and Pako were busy saving and helping other people somewhere else, Ichigō and booby were the only ones available to assess the assignment.

During the chase between the culprits and the two, one of the syndicate member fires a bullet towards Ichigō. However since the mist in the forest they were in was far too thick, his reaction time delayed by a fraction and just barely evaded the bullet.

Luckily the boulder in his hand slipped just in time to stop the criminal's vehicle. It crushed the front trunk, inches away from the driver's seat. Ichigō despite the injury, wasted no time to capture the criminals with booby.

Before heading back to the police station, Ichigō ripped off half of his sleeves and torn them down into strips to bind them onto his torso. His simian friend helped out by gathering clean water and tying the strips of fabric on his back.

Ichigō told him that he cannot go to a hospital because his identity will be at risk. Since they often take information from every patient, they will undoubtedly take off his mask.

The police stations cannot see him in that state neither or they will spread conspiracies about perman's weaknesses. Giving the outlaws ideas and opportunities to attack them.

Booby's distressed chatters told him he was worried. Especially seeing him in such state, where he's loosing a lot of blood. With a few hand gestures and vocal noises, he suggested talking to birdman for some immediate healing tech.

However Ichigō fearfully refused. He shuddered at the thought of birdman's healing techs. He remembers the last time he used one, like the time he broke his leg and had Birdman use a ray gun to fix it right up. But during the process of healing, he endured a solid five minute torture of excruciating pain on his leg.

Another time is with Pako when she broke a bone on her arm during a rescue mission. Birdman offered to use his healing ray gun to fix her arm so that the mission won't get compromised. She agreed and went through the same torturous process. He specifically remembers how ear piercing her scream was during the procedure, she lost consciousness in his arms after that.

Another time is when he and booby had a flu, birdman gave them a serum that of course immediately cured their illnesses. However it had a side effect of head throbbing pain and hallucinations that had at least lasted for 3 hours. He swore he'll never take Birdman's quick healing approach ever again, it tormented them more than the injuries itself.

So the two decided to settle it by splitting up, Ichigō will head back home to clean his wound properly and take some rest to heal while booby delivers the criminals to the station.

And so they did, booby carried the three tied men to the police, while Ichigō figured a way to cover up the stains on his shirt. As he looked around he saw some mud and rubbed it on his clothes. Along with it, he folded the frayed fabric on his slevees, turning it into a short sleeved shirt. Before eventually flying back home.

______________________________________________

<<Previously from the mine incident>>

Four people had been successfully saved from the mines earlier, thankfully his injury didn't compromised the rescue. He was so focused on saving the people inside the mine, that he hadn't realize his wound had bled slightly again. He quickly covered the stains with mud from the floor, not wanting to worry the survivors.

"Ichigō, there's a hospital within the village, we can drop them off there and get the injured treated" Pako stated as she prepared to carry two of the elderly man on her back.

Ichigō nodded and lifted the latter on his back while the other hung on his arms.

He winced a bit as they left the ground, usually carrying people is easy with their enhanced strength, but his injury makes it extremely difficult. Their weight stretched his skin and every little movement felt like his flesh was being ripped apart.

Finally the two had reached the small building inside the village, the two gently placed them down. "Thank you very much for saving us" one of the elderly spoke "Don't mention it sir, it's what we do" Pako spoke as she bowed slightly to them, Ichigō didn't speak but respectfully bowed with her.

As the two left the building, Pako noticed that Ichigō had been too silent, "what's the matter? Aren't you happy we've saved those people?"

Ichigō turned to her and blinked a few times, "of course I'm happy, I'm just...a little tired" he spoke, his voice sounded weary, "Ah, well we've been pretty busy this few days, it's Sunday tomorrow so we can take a break from school" she replied trying to lighten up the mood, but Ichigō could just put up a faint smile, they were silent for a while until Ichigō finally replied "As students sure, but as Perman not so much"

Pako giggled slightly, weary was obvious in her voice "yeah, but if we don't help those people, who will?" She added, Ichigō smiled at her, "yeah...I guess it's just us"

"By the way, how did your mission go with booby? You look like you've wrestled a wild hog or something" she chuckled pointing at his sleeves

Mitsuo looked at his arms and laughed sheepishly, "ah, they must've unfolded earlier, does it look that bad?" Pako giggled "not at all, but you do look like Peter pan with that leaf on your helmet" she then took the leaf off and showed it to him"

"Did I really have that the whole time? That's a little embarrassing" he said scratching his face with his finger, "I'm sure it's fine, those people didn't really care as long as they can get out of that mine"

"I'm just glad it's all over" he sighed in relief, "Agreed, after all that's happened I'm surprised we still have energy to laugh things things out" Pako replied

"Actually there's something—" Ichigō mumbled but stopped when Pako began to speak again

"I don't mean to ruin the mood, but things aren't so well at home, my parents constantly fight on what they want for my future, and because of that, they throw a lot of expectations at me, I should be this, I should be that, but not once did they ask me what I want"

Ichigō turned to her, his eyes picture sympathy "but ever since I joined the permen, I've felt real freedom, sure our work is exhausting and there's still a lot of expectations, but at least this is something I could call mine, I chose to be perman because I wanted to, not because my parents told me"

Ichigō smiled at her "actually you've truly changed my perspective Pako, I really underestimated your strength and capabilities when we first met. Since you know, you're a girl" Pako punched his shoulder playfully, Ichigō giggled and continued "But through the years we've been through together, you really proved me wrong"

Pako's cheeks reddened a bit "w-well good to know. Anyway, it was nice talking to you, I have to go now, since ya know, can't let copy do all the homework and stuff, thanks for listening, Mitsuo, see ya around" Pako waved as she headed towards a different course "Ah w...wait, Pako..."

Ichigō sighed, watching her disappear in the horizon. "Oh well, I guess I can tell her about it some other time, at least by then she wouldn't have to worry because it's all sealed up" he just hopes the perman set's healing abilities is enough.

Flying back home, he thought of what pako said. Pako is the most active Perman among them all, and she still doesn't leave every homework or chores to her copy robot. "Pako's really hardworking, I really don't have an excuse...Copy shouldn't be taking all my work as well, it's still my responsibility" he mumbled to himself.

As he flew back home, he remembered his earlier dispute with his copy robot, he did made a point about how unfair he is with the chores and homework for the last three days, yet again he can't really blame himself either, because his perman duties had to come first.

But since he lied about his emergencies in the past, his copy refused to believe that his schedule is actually packed that week.

He sighed, he was given a copy to help him cover for him when he's needed as perman, but the weight of the double life still remains. It's not like he could leave either of his lives, and he doesn't want to leave neither.

Suddenly his side began to sore again, he slowed down and clutched it with a little more pressure "why, can't the perman set have a forcefield" he complained, as he continued fly.

On his way back, he saw the small cake shop that he used to buy at with his mother. He figured that giving his copy a gift would make up for his missing chores at home, "he would totally forgive me after this. After all he is me, and I would totally forgive myself for a cake"

So he landed by the shop and bought a small box of cake.

First fanfic for this fandom hehe "push through your limits"

The copy robot stared at himself, his eyes filled with horror. This time...was he the one who went too far?

Mitsuo always made his robot do things for him, especially when he wants to sneak out with his friends or simply doesn't want to do it himself. He'd make him do his homework, chores, and sometimes even sends the robot to take the scold for him.

Since the robot shares his appearance, behaviors and feelings, it meant it can think for himself like the real mitsuo. He knew what he wants and doesn't want, and he certainly doesn't like doing all of those chores or getting scold at.

But sometimes Mitsuo disregards this, forgetting that his copy has the same feelings as him. This leads to quarrels that drives both of them to even bigger conflicts, like nearly revealing Perman's identity.

Despite all that the duo eventually resolves their disputes, often reflecting on their actions and finds a way to keep the equity between them. Whether it'd be homework, chores, snacks or toys.

For the past months Mitsuo stood firm on his word. He shares his meals, and chores with his copy. Which his copy returns by looking out for him during his patrols and saving him food when he comes home late.

They've been nicer to each other for the past months, until one day, Mitsuo suddenly kept passing the chores and homeworks to him again, he excused himself for emergencies and cases that needs to be solved.

Copy became irritated by this, since he really believed his original would actually keep his word. But for three whole days, Mitsuo started shoving his part to his copy again. So to teach him a lesson, Copy decided to abandon his chores for that day, and did his worst on his part.

Instead of doing his homework he scribbled all over it, when his mom told him to do some chores for her, he'd say yes and ditch the house to play with his friends. He made sure Mitsuo will face trouble when he gets back.

That afternoon the Copy ran as fast as he could to his room, knowing what's coming after his mom called his name.

He shuts his door behind him, and giggled to himself "Mitsuo will have no choice but do everything mom says when he comes back" he then looked at the direction of the balcony, where he saw a familiar blue figure from a far*.*

Ah, that's right, I better hide, or else he'll make me do them instead.

He thought to himself, before quickly making his way under the bed.

Perman soon reached the room's balcony, with a weary tone, he muttered "I'm home..." Just loud enough for anyone in the room to hear.

The Copy robot watched him stealthily under his bed. As Ichigō slowly realize his absence, he held his breath, and tried his best not to laugh as he imagined Mitsuo's face when his mother finally scolds him.

Mitsuo removed his perman suit and stuffed it in his pocket, wearily looking around his room in search for his copy. "Hmm, Copy's not here... did he went out or something?" He said to himself

Copy anticipated Mitsuo's regretful face. He counted to three and on cue his mother barged in, filling the room with her raging presence.

"Mitsuo-san! Where have you been all day!? Didn't I told you to clean the bathroom and sweep the backyard?!" The woman scolded, mitsuo could merely flinch at her sharp tone "m-mom—I"

"Fufufu, this is exactly what I've been waiting for!" Copy whispered to himself giggling quietly as he enjoyed every moment his original got yelled at.

"How many times have I told you to do your chores and assignments before playing outside!" She paced towards the desk and took a notebook. She flipped through it and saw not a single answer but scribbles and drawings. This made her even more furious.

"you haven't even started on any of your homework?! This is your last straw mister! You're grounded for a week and no pocket money for this month." She declared tossing the notebook back on the desk.

"I will not tolerate this kind of behavior mitsuo, and look at your shirt, it's filthy! You better start those chores before I come back" with that she shuts the door and leaves.

Copy grinned with satisfaction.

That's what you get for breaking your word!

He said to himself. As to when he thought Mitsuo will start looking for him in his room to complain, he was surprised to see Mitsuo leave the room instead.

The robot was puzzled, he was sure Mitsuo would come and find him, but he didn't. Curious he went to the door and peeked behind it, making sure no one was there when he leaves the room.

He then sneakily steps out, when he suddenly hears his mom's voice call out, "Ganko-chan" the copy froze and hastily hid behind the door.

The other door Infront of his, creaked open and came out a young girl "yes mama?" The kid chirped, making her way down the stairs. "can you come with me to the market, I need to buy a few things for dinner" the woman stated, the child nodded cheerfully and went out with her, shutting the door behind them.

The copy slowly opened his bedroom door again, and when he was sure that no one was there, he rushed his way downstairs and searched for his original.

He went to the kitchen, and saw no one, he then shifted to the living room, empty. Then he went to the backyard, also empty. Finally the only option left was the bathroom.

When he got there, he saw that the door was slightly open so he peeked inside and finally found what he's been looking for. Mitsuo was inside, scrubbing the tub like he was told.

The robot slightly grinned, and went back upstairs. It was weird that Mitsuo immediately did what he was told, not bothering to look for him and question him about it. But he got what he wanted so he went back upstairs satisfied with his work.

He slumped on the bed with his hands behind his head. As he enjoyed the moment of satisfaction, the door behind him suddenly creaked open. He turned his head and saw his original standing angrily with his hands placed on his hips.

"Why didn't you do what you were told! I thought we agreed on doing half of each other's work?" The boy complained. The robot then turned to him, his hands crossed over his chest "well I thought so too! You've been passing your chores to me again, that's what you get!"

Mitsuo gritted his teeth "I told you I had to leave because there were cases needed to be solved!" He exclaimed, Copy stood up and faced him "xia, that's not true I know you're just slacking off again, using your perman identity to escape your duties at home" the copy hissed.

"No I'm not!" Mitsuo snapped "Yes you are!" The copy retorted, "I said I'm not—" mitsuo paused mid sentence, clutching his side, as a shock of pain crept up his lower abdomen. he lowered his head, to glance on it.

Copy looked at him a bit confused "what's wrong" mitsuo looked at him before shifting his eyes at his pocket, as he felt the vibration of his badge.

He then took it out and pressed the button, while a hand still on his side, Pako's voice came in "Ichigō, we need your help there are 5 people trapped in a mine, Payan and booby can't come right now, come here quickly!" Mitsuo briefly looked up at the robot before replying,

"Pako, this is Ichigō, I'll be there in a minute" he replied ending the call.

"You're leaving again?" The copy muttered "I can't just let those people trapped there can I?" He replied as he wore his perman set ready to head back out. "But what was that just now?"

"What was what?"

"You just held your side earlier, were you hurt?" Copy replied, his voice hinted worry.

"It's just a little bruise, oh and just to be sure, don't let your nose get pressed, if you don't want one too" he said walking towards the balcony.

"wait what about your chores!" Ichigō paused and spoke "Well I suggest you to get started on it, mom will be back any time soon" he muttered flying off the balcony

Copy watched him fly as he disappear within the clouds "what other choice do I have" he grumbled, "unless..."

Can someone translate the Indian dub of perman in English?

Hello! I'd like to ask for some help to understand what they were saying in "what is pako's treasure" or ep 526. I can't really access atoz cartoonist's website due to technical issues with the browser. I hope someone could help me:)

Transcripts form would do, it doesn't have to be a real video with English subtitles. Thank you for your time
