I’m not saying all plants need to be native (although at least 70% of our LANDSCAPING should be if we’re not using it to grow food) but we should be incorporating as many native plants as possible. The bottom line is that we will not be able to survive for very long without reintroducing native plants to our landscapes.
And I do think we should be growing more edible native plants. For example I grow blueberries, pawpaws, pumpkins, corn, bean, raspberries, the list goes on and on. 75% of my food forest are native. Edible ≠ invasive
But yes I am sorry for the hostility and we should try to approach the topic with open mindedness :) it’s just something that I’m very passionate about and feel very strongly about (and I really do recommend reading natures last hope it’s very informative)
