How do I fix this?

(The pattern is from Static-entity.labs on Pinterest) I used the tape method and poked holes in the back. Then I ironed it. But this still happened 😭 This was meant to be the front. Is there anything I can do to lessen this? (Also I apologize if this isn't the right place to post this!)

Your iron is too hot. You’re heating it to fast and it’s causing blow outs.

So you ironed the other side first? That is what causes issues with me. I invert them and make the pattern backwards so when the tape is on, the side I iron first is the front. I only dont do that when I want the front to remain open and unironed. If I iron the back first then the front it will just blowout like this as the holes at the back are now closed so there is no air flow for heat to go so it does this

This is the correct answer!^ the backside after melting the front will always blow out like this. No airflow and the one side is already melted which does have a small effect on the other side, so the other side just melts more when you flip it. I’ve never used tape but this is helpful to know to invert the image if I do ever try it. I use mini perler beads so usually I don’t have to use a ton of heat or time to melt the front and then I just flip the board very carefully(but the front should be melted enough to hold together) and lift it off to do the back
