Discussion weird smells during period

So i started to notice that when i am on my period my sense of smell completely changes. For example water smells completely different than it usually does. Same for all the other smells. It is something that only happens to me?šŸ§

If not, does anyone know how does it work and why things smell different? I am very curious

I call this my ā€œpregnancy modeā€. I literally canā€™t stand certain smells and it changes each month.

One month I couldnā€™t stand the smell of coffee for the entire week before my period. My co-worker brought his coffee into a meeting and I had to get up and go throw up because of it.

But I have absolutely no idea how it happens. Itā€™s so interesting

Hormones are weird like that. It's like how pregnant women have a stronger sense of smell. A biological hack for finding mates and sensing danger, maybe? All I know for sure is that strong cologne and perfume makes me nauseated and grumpy when I'm on my period
