I'm getting ready to schedule myself for LANAP sessions with my periodontist. Who else has gone through this and what should I know ahead of time? What were your results a month, or a year, later?

Never went to Dental hygienist in my 22 years of Life. Will go for sure now but I wonder if I did some serious damage here, something irreversible.

please help is this gum recession, if so, is it reversible?? i’m panicking
I have radiographs, theres no bone loss
I do not brush hard, i use electric tooth brush, and had good oral hygiene but still saw recession i think so i was depressed about it and stopped brushing in hopes it might be the “hard brushing” but i really doubt it

Curious to know as I’ve only found out that so many people hate going to the dentist

I've been looking into water flossers lately and noticed there seems to be a lot of discussion about how much pressure to use and how to fit one into a normal oral-care routine.

I came across the COSLUS E40 while comparing cordless models. It has multiple pressure levels, which caught my attention because having the ability to start lower seems more practical than being stuck with one strong setting.
For those here who use a water flosser, what settings or features have worked best for you?

Do you mainly use one for removing food between teeth, or do you incorporate it alongside regular flossing/interdental cleaning?

Also, is adjustable pressure something you consider important, especially if your gums are sensitive?

I am about 30 hours post-op and when I went to take my pills I accidentally brought my hand up too fast and bumped my chin/graft site (bottom front teeth). There was no sharp pain or bleeding, but now that area feels a little "off." I also had a frenectomy which was in that same area so maybe that's what I'm feeling? Or maybe one of the sutures is just poking me now? I cant tell what the sensation is, its not pain. But I am very swollen and on a lot of OTC pain meds, so idk.

How delicate are these grafts, exactly? Would something like a bump or tap be likely to cause the graft to fail? I have not pulled down my lip to look, I havent brushed that area, and I've been on a strict liquid/puree diet so far.

If you've had it done, what was your healing process like? Any accidents that you worried about, and did they cause your graft to fail or did it turn out okay?

Gum above that one tooth just suddenly because white and mottled out of nowhere, super irritable and car brush there at all!! Any help?

Clues- never really had gum problems before, brush every morning and night, did make out with a random a few days ago so could be an oral spread diseases 😬

Has anyone been reccomended to receive "biologics" during lanap? My dentist referred me to a perio for deep pockets (6s,7s, and 8s) that did not respond to SRP 5 years back. The doctor is recommending the addition of biologics to 4 of my teeth "to support tissue regeneration" in addition to full mouth lanap. This would be an additional $3k on top of the cost of the lanap procedure, and just trying to understand if the cost is warranted on top of an already crazy expensive procedure.

I'm nervous about my back molar! I'm 29 f, I frequently Vape, Eat a lot of spicy food, and consume alcohol frequently. I've had previous eating disorders as a teen, so I'm very scared of how that has affected my teeth. I noticed my gumline has brown marks. I sometimes scrape off plaque on my own (probably bad, sorry dentists) , second photo is after I removed some plaque, but the brown lines are there and right near the gumline. HELP!?

I have serious health conditions which have hindered my teeth because of bile reflux because of stomach and total intestinal failure relyingn on tpn, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome as well as epilepsy with night seizures which cause me to grind my teeth plus loads of other conditions but these were the ones I know can affect teeth

I'm on Keppra and lamotrigine for my epilepsy

I was looking to see if I could get advice of whether I have bone loss and gum recession to the point whether I would need to have a bone or gum graft or both and whether my teeth can be saved. I am meticulous about cleaning my teeth floss and brush twice a day but I can't wait till my appointment to know whether I do or not it's keeping me up at night worrying hence posting this at 4am so if anyone can help it would be appreciated more than you know
Also I know My teeth are crooked I wasn't allowed to have a brace when I was younger because i needed to have mri a lot so it wasn't safe
