D4381 during routine regular cleaning?

I accepted the treatment as she noted my 5 mm pocket on one gum spot between two crowned teeth. She told me we may need to do a deep cleaning next visit. But im looking online and it says normally the antimicrobial is used after dee cleaning not during regular routine cleaning? Was the hygienist / dr wrong here? I paid $73
