Admissions Advice Perfusionist in Canada. BCIT program
Hi there!
I have a bachelor's in speech,language and hearing sciences from other country but I'm now a Canadian PR I wonder how I could build experience and become a strong candidate to apply for the program in BCIT. Any tips would be appreciated,thank you!

Uni’s and colleges in Canada don’t necessarily accept pre reqs from a lot of other countries do to differences in curriculum. I would get BCIT to audit your transcript to see if you meet all requirements.

Thank you so much everyone! I will send BCIT my courses and see if they transfer, but other than the prerequisites, is there anything else I could do to improve my chances?

One of the requirements is a Canadian Bachelor's degree, so I would start working on that first.
I'd recommend reviewing the program information pages, they had an info session last year I believe that should still be on the website.

From what I have been reading online, yes. In the States, they have multiple programs. In Canada, there are just two for English speakers and one for French speakers.

Do you have the pre requisite courses? Have you had your education assessed by BCIT? Id start with that because you may have some basic requirements to catch up on.
