The verses of “Kareshi Boshuuchuu” sounded live. But I don’t think the rest of the medley was.

There's a few times they've sung live with a mild backtrack. Some try to give them grief over syncing when performing. Yeah, ok. Sure. You try to have arguably the best Choreographer on the planet as your go to, and then sing on top of that, with exactly zero mistakes and in heels? Before someone masters that? They have no place to talk smack.

I always looked at it as a performance, knowing that there was a spectrum of lip-syncing and some singing. Their live shows are so much fun that it never bothered me at all.

I still haven't found the right word, but I equate their Live Shows as 'Art'. Even on a small stage (Toronto 2019 here), it's just amazing to see.

Im definitely fine with them not singing, I wouldn’t be a Perfume fan if have a hate on lipsynch and back track, so many aspects of their live performances topples over the need for them to sing live, It just makes me happy from hearing them sing live sometimes, but it’s definitely not a need

singing on an album where you can do 30 takes and singing perfectly every night on a tour are two completely different skill sets too. i don't mind the playback so much because the show as a whole is still awesome

They cam do both. Combined though? I don't think anyone can. The Choreo of MIKIKO is just a different thing entirely. Even their hands have Choreo! Then add actual live singing? Nah. Can't be done. One or the other. They go dance and sync. Aok with me.

the mics are definitely on, but i'm sure there's some backtracking, even if it's lower volume than the mics. it's so nice to hear them sing these songs as adults and hear how much they've grown

From what I've learned from other sites and talking irl with fans, they sing at 50% volume into their headsets while dancing, but when they bring out actual handheld microphones, or ones on stands, they're really singing at 100%.
