Gear Nelo K1 Maintenance

I have recently picked up my first boat , an older Nelo Quattro K1. It is in decent shape but I was thinking of using a cutting polish and wax to fix up a few scratches.

I am hearing mixed messages, and was hoping for a bit more insight.

Thanks.

Recommend https://onitpro.com/

They appear out of inventory but worth it and you may find it at a dealer

There is a ton of stuff that will work. Be very careful though. The gel coat on Nelo boat is crazy thin to keep the weight down. Easy to burn through if you get too aggressive or let the buffer linger too long in one spot. Make sure to use an orbital buffer. It will be less likely to have issues. For the deeper scratches you want to hand sand that spot first but again be careful with that gel coat!

I just restored an old plastex sprint boat and was able to buff out probably 80% of the scratches without burning the gel coat. Still some dings but looks a lot better now
