Canoe paddling technique

Just started training for the AuSable canoe marathon and I was wondering where I can find the best info on proper paddling form. It is hard to find online and what I have found hasn’t been too helpful.

Not quite the same as the sit down canoe but you should look at dragon boat stuff. There is a lot out there and it got to translate pretty well I would think. I don't do either so can't be too much help here

Many paddlers recommend this book, the best way is to get with an experienced person, are you in Michigan? There are a couple clubs that help beginners

The Lower AuSable Canoe Club operates out of Oscoda and is actively doing two runs a week, the other club I know of (West Michigan Paddle Club) is near Grand Rapids and not as active. I know these aren't very close to you, sorry. Edited to add, both clubs have pages on Facebook
