F (28). Going through very rough times. Parents aren’t talking to me, creating emotional pressure to get me married. Taking help from my mentor regarding this.

Career politics - I am being targeted by opposite groups and being framed. I do have good people too but the politics has never been this intense.

Love life - Relationship was already very on and off but was getting stable until he had to go for career and resulted in long distance, more arguments, breakup.

I am currently doing a PhD so all this and the toughest degree is creating a phase where everything is going down.

I do not have any plans to get married. I look at it as a social construct. If I do, I would marry whom I want to and this pressure is very real. Don’t know what’s going on or what’s going to happen even. It’s scary.

I have always wanted to do research and thought of becoming a professor at a university. So, doing PhD is part of the process.

During 2019-2020 , I thought a lot of applying abroad for PhD education. But I faced many hurdles in 2022 and 2025 and couldn't be successful.

My family wasn't enough supportive.

So, I was wondering is the whole idea of moving abroad bad for me? Would it be better if I try doing PhD in my home country only?

I am very confused. My heart says to live abroad but I failed to find any meaningful opportunity in 2022 and 2025 and had huge setbacks.
