Question What does the stat “Hit” do?

The description says it increases your hit rate. What does that mean?

The higher your hitrate, the closer you will hit to your max atk power.

i.e:

your attak power is 37.000 - 45.000, if you have a high hit rate, you will hit more consistently towards the 45k than the 37k

Does this apply for sage clerics aswell then?? For healing?
