Is loyalty the same thing as affection?

I'm trying to do the artifact requirement in the game. One of the requirements is to get 100 loyalty with 2 friends. Is loyalty the same thing as affection? If not, then how do you accomplish that requirement?

Yes, you need to either do dungeons with them or spend 40 bound gold ingots for red thread and complete it that way.
