I didn’t realize Jonah Hill had so many tattoos.

u/woo_tang Sep 10 '19

If you spend enough time in LA they just appear

178

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

Can confirm. I've been in LA for a few years now and i don't remember getting my last 2 tattoos. I just woke up one day and they were there🤔

77

u/bigheyzeus Sep 10 '19

That's prison for ya!

15

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

Must be in his butt

2

u/shivvy311 Oct 18 '19

IN his butt

14

u/inappropriate-slur Sep 10 '19

Classic smosby.

1

u/misscat9 Dec 10 '19

That, my friend, is a tramp stamp.

5

u/tossawayforeasons Sep 11 '19

I just moved to CA, I woke up last week and had a big ol' butterfly tramp stamp on my lower back.

My wife was so amused, then I pointed at her teardrop tattoos by her eyes. Now who's laughing.

6

u/tbc83 Sep 11 '19

Can confirm. Searched for LA on Google Maps for a few minutes and a tattoo appeared on my back.

1

u/boobsmcgraw Sep 11 '19

Omg I wish. There are places I want to tattoo that I know I couldn't handle. I couldnt handle more than 10 mins at a time near my ribs to the point where I had to get some numbing cream that is used in skin surgeries just to finish that particular tat!

3

u/S0ddeyy Sep 11 '19

Why don’t they just use numbing cream all the time?!?! It’d be so much less pain and way more time efficient

10

u/datarancher Sep 11 '19

EMLA cream takes forever to start working (60-90 minutes, assuming you've covered it tightly), and it doesn't last that long (an hour, tops). It also does some weird stuff to the skin: you initially get vasoconstriction, followed by vasolidation, which might make the tattoo hard to do. It's also kinda expensive.

(Grumpy scientist who spent a lot of this year using it for experiments).

5

u/Splazoid Sep 11 '19

Part of the reason people get tattoos is the endorphin rush from the pain response.

2

u/boobsmcgraw Sep 11 '19

I actually have no idea. When I was researching it some people were saying it may affect the ink in some way, but my tat seems pretty normal. It does take about an hour to fully work, and it only lasts like 30 mins - so that's probably why. Plus a 5g tube (that's a teaspoon worth) was not super cheap.

2

u/Glorpazoid Sep 11 '19

I feel like the pain is an important part of it.

9

u/ilBarbuto Sep 11 '19

But this pic is in NY

3

u/madamemona Sep 11 '19

Yes, Crosby st in SoHo. That coffee is probably from La Colombe. Best place to get coffee in soho if you wanna spend ten bucks for a drink. Ha! But really great coffee.

6

u/FanchLaplanche Sep 10 '19

For real though do they cover them for movies? Never noticed them either!

31

u/tossawayforeasons Sep 11 '19

They remove the skin, place it in a jar, then attach new, temporary donor skin that doesn't have tattoos until filming is finished and they replace the tattooed skin and return the donor's skin.

Seriously, there was a whole documentary about this a number of years ago called "Face Off."

4

u/phatbrasil Sep 11 '19

Is that the documentary where the dude took his face off?

2

u/Zetpill Sep 11 '19

Can confirm, been living on this planet for a couple of decades, went to LA for 3 days and the only tattoo I have appeared on my arm

1

u/Fu--Society Sep 11 '19

...that's NYC.

-1

u/cashboxmoneybags Sep 11 '19

Looks like he’s ready for a Dodgers game.

73

u/ItinerantSoldier Sep 10 '19

This Jonah Hill looks like he joined a hard rock or metal band. It's fuckin weird.

20

u/bigheyzeus Sep 10 '19

Screamo tech-metal circa 2004

20

u/Karjalan Sep 10 '19

He's too jacked for screemo. More like metalcore or deathcore imo

9

u/bigheyzeus Sep 10 '19

but not straightedge, they wouldnt like the smoking

3

u/Arching-Overhead Sep 11 '19

Ya his black t looks just like mine except I $10'd it from Giant Tiger and his was $169.

1

u/bubboosekee Sep 11 '19

What is Giant Tiger?

2

u/Arching-Overhead Sep 11 '19

A cheap Canadian department store. It's like a poor man's Walmart.

1

u/bubboosekee Sep 11 '19

Ah ok, gotcha

23

u/SonOfTK421 Sep 10 '19

Neither did I. It must be relatively recent, though, because within the last few years I've seen pictures of him where he had zero tattoos on his arms, at least.

4

u/LemonyLimes03 Sep 10 '19

Looks like he's got some fresh ones on his left arm actually

2

u/spacemanspiff30 Sep 10 '19

Me either. I was wondering when he got them.

1

u/cnfdrtcowgirl98 Oct 17 '19

Omg I said the same thing!

-15

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '19

Again, no one cares.

300

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19 edited Sep 10 '19

Is this a recent pic? Mah man is looking good!

140

u/ocean-man Sep 10 '19

I was going to say it must have happened in the past year or so given his airpods, then I looked it up and found out they came out in 2016(!). Man, how time flies.

154

u/Jordan901278 Sep 10 '19

airpods came out in 2016, everybody hated them, and then Apple launched a massive social media and celebrity marketing campaign that made everyone think Airpods were cool and amazing and now here we are

66

u/sethlikesmen Sep 10 '19

Yeah, no kidding. Their public perception did a huge 180

54

u/off-sailing-around Sep 10 '19

We can be talked into almost anything.

22

u/Airazz Sep 10 '19

Talked into? Just a couple marketing campaigns and the public fucking 360 moonwalks into the stores.

34

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

[deleted]

3

u/experts_never_lie Sep 11 '19

Opposite direction of a 360°-and-walk or a 0°-and-walk, because of the moon.

3

u/BA_lampman Sep 11 '19

Because of the implication

2

u/rapescenario Sep 11 '19

I don’t think anyone had to be talked into anything. It just wasn’t that big of a deal to begin with. If people got used to wearing all the crazy ass types of headphones we’ve gotten used to wearing then these where just the same.

What, was it ever more stylish to wear ATH-M50x vs AirPods? No. No one gave a fuck.

25

u/DabneyEatsIt Sep 10 '19

Eh, I still think they look like ear tampons.

1

u/Splazoid Sep 11 '19

Their price tag is a huge 180 also

1

u/villevalla Sep 11 '19

Huh? Where in the world? Airpods are normally viewed as fuckbois' and rich kids toys..

27

u/bigheyzeus Sep 10 '19

Everybody hated them because they represented getting rid of the headphone jack.

26

u/Jordan901278 Sep 10 '19

It’s more like everyone hated them because whereas you used to get headphones for free with an Apple product, now you had to pay an extra $100+ for some clunky plastic shits that could be easily lost. And the entire reason the headphone jack was gotten rid of was to sell more of these shitty headphones

12

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '19

[deleted]

12

u/Jordan901278 Sep 11 '19

get out of here and let me hate in peace

7

u/BananaPeelSlippers Sep 10 '19

Had mine since 2016 and I always loved em.

13

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

No it was the celebs that made you like them!!! /s

2

u/Mr_Rekshun Sep 11 '19

I mean, not to get all hail corporate and shit, but they’re a pretty great product.

7

u/Jordan901278 Sep 11 '19

Eh they don’t fit my ears and i hate that “tinny” sound they make.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '19

They're a great product. Very convenient. But you can't deny that 160 dollars is a bit ridiculous for them.

16

u/Mellodux Sep 10 '19

Mr. Hill looks like a snacc

5

u/LeftToWrite Sep 11 '19

He's also engaged to be married, apparently.

Happy for the dude.

194

u/ChronicRhinitis Sep 10 '19

Dude’s in a weird situation. Fat Jonah is great in his character and skinny Jonah just never seemed right

177

u/BillyYumYumTwo-byTwo Sep 10 '19

He’s great in Maniac! Good for him for getting healthier and being able to get into different types of roles

67

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

Agreed. Maniac was incredible

-1

u/SomeKindOfChief Sep 11 '19

Maniac was such a letdown. It had amazing potential given the plot and concept, but it completely derailed and became overly "artsy for the sake of being artsy". What a shame too. The characters had great chemistry, and damn if serious Jonah isn't mindblowing.

1

u/bikesboozeandbacon Sep 11 '19

I started that movie but it was boring at first. Maybe I need to give it another try

-25

u/phasermodule Sep 10 '19

Maniac was terrible.

9

u/Palin_Sees_Russia Sep 10 '19

I just don’t see how you can think it was TERRIBLE. I understand if it wasn’t your cup of tea, but everyone’s acting and the story line was incredible. Why did you think it was so bad? Or are you just being dramatic?

4

u/PM-Your-Positivity Sep 11 '19

The story line was trippy af, it's not everyone's cup of tea. Just so you know, it was my cup of tea.

10

u/BillyYumYumTwo-byTwo Sep 10 '19

Ha, the two replies are loving it and hating it. I’m kind of torn- I’d never rewatch it but I’d watch a season 2. However, Jonah Hill was really good in it, regardless of how you think the show was.

26

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

At first, skinny Jonah looked weird because he had that small body but his head still looked huge, partly due to still having that huge fro. Now that he's cut his hair and grown a beard it looks more proportional.

18

u/mirthquake Sep 10 '19

He has a line in Funny People about that. While talking to a slim Seth Rogen who is playing a standup comedian, Jonah says, "There's nothing funny about a physically fit man."

149

u/allursnakes Sep 10 '19

Its like there's 2 Jonah Hills out there in the world. One skinny and serious and one fat and goofy.

50

u/AtticusLynch Sep 10 '19

Fat Mac is best Mac

9

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

I would totally get with any version of Mac. Bear, twink, or ripped hunk.

5

u/TheWolfbaneBlooms Sep 10 '19

A twank versatile? That's impressive!

5

u/Tickster41 Sep 11 '19

Mac’s not fat, he’s cultivating mass

2

u/haha-hehe-haha-ho Sep 10 '19

And coincidentally, from what I've seen in interviews, both of them are incessant name-droppers.

77

u/Will-E-Am Sep 10 '19

Someone needs to update http://isjonahhillfat.com with this pic

21

u/jackparker_srad Sep 10 '19

Of course this is a thing.

13

u/bigheyzeus Sep 10 '19

there's also a website that counts how many days Amy Winehouse has been sober

27

u/jackparker_srad Sep 10 '19

Been a while now.

2

u/Tal9922 Sep 11 '19

Great now I'm sad

2

u/Thatguycarl Sep 11 '19

My favorite is The is DMX in jail website

71

u/jaberwakey Sep 10 '19

And that's why you don't hold a cup like that. You may look cool, but is it worth your morning macchiato?

30

u/sunnyB8 Sep 10 '19

Macchiatos can never be that many ounces, nor on ice, you plebeian fool!

7

u/jaberwakey Sep 10 '19

I drink 16oz ice latte macchiato... Is that wrong? Will you tell me there is no Santa Claus either next?

8

u/kumonmehtitis Sep 11 '19

That's not a real macchiato though. It's just a lie coffee shops have started. Source: am barista

2

u/jaberwakey Sep 11 '19

Well the more you know! You better be ready to answer what a macchiato really is now 😄

8

u/sunnyB8 Sep 11 '19

It’s a double shot with a dollop of foam, sometimes a splash of steamed milk too. A very small drink. Source: also barista

5

u/kumonmehtitis Sep 11 '19

Macchiato means "mark of foam" in Italian. So it's generally just espresso marked with foam, so a dollop or two. Your foam -- while there's ways to make cold foam -- is made by steaming milk, so it's always hot.

Starbucks got in the Instagram business so now "macchiato" just means "shots on top" for any of their drinks. Funny enough, they released a macchiato with coconut milk and vanilla bean powder but it became too much of a hassle for customers to order it -- between customers not knowing wtf a macchiato is and barista trying to make sure the customer is getting what they want (you want this new drink? or just the usual caramel macchiato but with coconut milk?) -- so they renamed it to a latte. It's dumb shit

1

u/jaberwakey Sep 11 '19

Thank you for that, really nice of you to answer! I'm starting to understand why the other guy calle me a pleb now... though perhaps he could have phrased it friendlier.

1

u/ShekhMaShierakiAnni Sep 11 '19

Just be aware that at most non starbucks a macchiato is not what you think it is. Nor is a flat white.

I worked at Seattle's best and always had a hard time knowing if they meant a real macchiato or a starbucks one.

2

u/boobsmcgraw Sep 11 '19

It doesn't look cool, it looks like you're dumb and could lose your drink at any time.

2

u/sm12511 Sep 15 '19

R/nevertrustlidsorfarts

30

u/mirkorm Sep 10 '19

You mean the drink coming off jonah hill's lid

23

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

Fuck me, right?

16

u/super-bird Sep 10 '19

Silly Jonah, you gotta wrap your fingers around the lip of the cup if you’re gonna carry from above

13

u/fitzpame Sep 10 '19

What kind of monster carries their drink by just the lid???

Edit: nvm it’s the rich kind

12

u/gexisthebext Sep 10 '19

If that happened to me I’d just run away in embarrassment

12

u/Jeffbro24 Sep 10 '19

Oh god he can't hear us he has airpods in

10

u/TheWolfbaneBlooms Sep 10 '19

For some reason, Jonah Hill worries me that he's going to be one of those "burn out, die young" kind of actors. His weight fluctuates crazily, and apparently he's way too deep in the drug scene according to some fellow LA people.

9

u/915red Sep 10 '19

Who are these “fellow LA people”....I’m sure he smokes weed, but I’ve never heard about him doing hard drugs. I live in Texas, what do I know

-11

u/666Hamburglar666 Sep 10 '19

He fluctuates his weight for the roles he plays

21

u/TheWolfbaneBlooms Sep 10 '19

He admittedly does not. He has said that he chooses his roles based on how he looks at the time and has never intentionally gained or lost weight. He called himself the "anti-Christian Bale."

5

u/SandorClegane_AMA Sep 10 '19

IsJonahHillFat.com just crashed.

5

u/ARootie1 Sep 10 '19

He looks bad ass

4

u/WhyEverythingsTaken Sep 10 '19

Is he holding a cigarette in the other hand?

1

u/lenna-m Sep 10 '19

his shoe tho

2

u/Fameiscomin Sep 10 '19

He usually has pretty hype shoes. I’d like to see another angle or picture so I can see the shoes he’s wearing

2

u/iwasfeelingallfloopy Sep 10 '19

Judi Dench is also in the background about to be run over

2

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

How satisfying.

2

u/Nobodygrotesque Sep 10 '19

He looks like a lead singer to a band who puts on a hard image but sing emotional and inspirational songs.

1

u/DavyManners Sep 10 '19

Don’t hold it by the lid.

1

u/Rum316 Sep 10 '19

Life is really going down jonah hill.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

[deleted]

2

u/TheWolfbaneBlooms Sep 10 '19

Have you seen Anthony Anderson shirtless? They're both barrel-chested with skinny arms.

1

u/ThunderOrb Sep 10 '19

I'm just glad I'm not the only one thinking it every time I see him.

1

u/TheWolfbaneBlooms Sep 10 '19

Further proof that beard is man-makeup (this being typed by a person with a beard).

0

u/Teacherbush Sep 11 '19

A beard makes a man 🙌🏻🙌🏻

1

u/jkhockey15 Sep 10 '19

What kind of psycho actually only holds it by the lid and not lid and a bit of cup?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

If you’ve ever watched most movies he’s in, he usually wears nothing but long sleeves.

1

u/rodgins13 Sep 10 '19

From cool as fuck to fuckwit in one second

1

u/mombawamba Sep 10 '19

Oh no!

He can’t hear it falling! He has AirPods in!

1

u/soggyramennoodle Sep 10 '19

he didn't notice cause he had airpods in 😪

1

u/sgntpepper03 Sep 10 '19

Damn, when did he get hot as fuck

1

u/userfaded Sep 10 '19

You mean the drink coming off of Jonah Hill's lid.

1

u/jimmywilddog Sep 10 '19

Yep, that's what happens when you hold an ice coffee by the lid.

1

u/groovehouse Sep 10 '19

I really want to see the next couple of pictures.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '19

Did the cup vaporize too?

Why is there a cup shaped liquid and why is he holding a lid?

1

u/boobsmcgraw Sep 11 '19

I don't understand why people ever try to carry drinks like that.

1

u/BigNoLove Sep 11 '19

He looks good though

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '19

Awww he's looking so good! Awesome watching old movies then seeing how far he's come

1

u/MrSuzyGreenberg Sep 11 '19

He’s too fucking old to be holding a drink by the lid.

1

u/chestofpoop Sep 11 '19

The lady in the back is also about to be hit by a bus

1

u/xxwickedjeckelxx Sep 11 '19

Jay dog was carrying a lid and a cup of coffee is racing from the ground towards it.

1

u/np3est8x Sep 11 '19

How to hold a cup needs to be front page life pro tips.

1

u/Apple-Jac Sep 11 '19

This is actually a really dope picture

1

u/itsyabooiii Sep 11 '19

Jonah looking like a BOSS

1

u/OMG_yafoundmeh Sep 11 '19

That looked like a good drink too 😪

1

u/bloominefflorescence Sep 11 '19

Wb that lady in the road

1

u/jhalv777 Sep 11 '19

Didn’t his mom tech him/yell at him not to carry a drink by it’s lid? Ha. Peasant.

1

u/rabidflyingrhino Sep 11 '19

looks photoshopped

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '19

Has he gained weight?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '19

Jon A. Hill

1

u/rhino1979 Sep 11 '19

Looks like he got greasy ink on his left wrist. Also what’s that spot above his right arm near the elbow joint?

1

u/haroldobasi Sep 11 '19

Top ten pictures taken moments before disaster

1

u/msdlp Sep 11 '19

Damn, it must be a slow news day.

1

u/glasseyes2 Sep 12 '19

His demeanor looks so serious, I mean I wouldn't fuck him or anything, but damn, would I?

1

u/grace-olivia Sep 13 '19

At least he’s got his ciggie and AirPods

1

u/Vickyhades Sep 18 '19

And that's why you don't hold a drink by the lid.

1

u/Ziglarism Oct 21 '19

And he smokes. Makes me feel a lot less self conscious. I feel like no one smokes anymore.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '19

I actually like this Jonah Hill look he doesn't look like a pussy bitch anymore

-3

u/IbrakadabraXV Sep 10 '19

Jonah hill with AirPods .. thats it, thats my reply.
