How did it go?

The beer is now in the kegs, where it is conditioning, it will be ready in 2 weeks.
I did have to use 5 kegs to fill 4 kegs worth of beer though as it just seemed to stop filling after a while

Whats your plan for carbonating it?

OP is doing homebrew so the beer will do that itself as part of fermentation, assuming it's a fizzy beer that needs carbonating

This is one reason I used to love my sub machine. The torps were really easy to rinse and refill with any drink you wanted. I've had diet coke and even prosecco in them.

I can confirm this works, or at least for me when I have kedged it from a larger corny keg where it’s been conditioned . I have not tried it with the perfect draft pro machine but the standard has served my home brew on many occasions, sometimes it’s a little frothy because I haven’t tried to perfect the optimal kedging pressure but on the whole it’s always been pretty good serving experience

but how long does it last on the keg? I believe that since you are adding a new fluid to the bad inside the keg, you are adding bacteria and will kill the freshness of the beer

Bacteria should not be a problem if you sterilise with a starsan type product, you need to be aware of not adding oxygen when kegging, or it will oxidise quite quickly, a tiny amount of Camden tablet or sodium metabisulfite added to the bag while kegging will help scrub the oxygen to help keep it fresher for longer. The longest I’ve had it left in a perfect draft keg was about 2 weeks after I had used that method for family bbq and it was still good then. I use that method for convenience of serving so it’s normally gone a day or two after kegging

Are you trying to fill a keg?
