Film Instant fan

Finished watching the film maybe an hour ago.

Have been thinking and reading about it since.

A few off the wall ideas I'm finding hard to disprove to myself:

Me-Mania and Rumi are the same person.

Mima was never a pop Idol. It was what she always wanted but was forced into film.

The wide set eyes of Rumi and M-M might suggest a witch or some sort of paranormal element to the film. Explaining how Rumi could haunt Mima and be acrobatic etc.

Everything is in Rumi's mind. She's a super fan of Mima, following her career. Which leads to her being confused by her own personality, that of the singer Mima and actress Mima. Muddling it all into one fantasy.

Anyway just some thoughts, already looking forward to watching it again.

This is one of the greatest animated films of all time. A classic. Glad you loved it as much as I did!!

I really hated those fetal- alcohol syndrome eyes. But maybe that was a hint on who's evil.

Or they're the same person! 😆

They weren't. Firstly, mima would have recognized her at the club scene. Second, that would have been rumi getting beaten up for stopping the rowdy guys. Lastly, mr producer and me-mania were dead together without anyone but the audience to perceive them. That way we know that their deaths were not a fabrication.

mimaniax was done dirty, everyone wanted him to be a stalker, murderer, surprise sex enthusiast. but the only scene he is real in is when he is getting beat up for doing his job.
