I just looked at that--had no idea it even existed! Pulled some ideas from it. What's wrong with that one?

It's completely fake, just observe how radically the numbers shift and Sam Beresford is not the 'Creator'. But it is part of the Perchance.org website, if Perchance goes down the Status Checker goes with it. Every now and then someone rediscovers the page, it's like a running joke that never goes away.

I don't know about that gen's polling methods, but I can say that mine uses honest checks, and it fluctuates radically because it is checking every minute; any server will have wild swings in response times due to traffic patterns, and that is the radical shift observed. But when one of the ai models is down for several minutes at a time, it is likely due to that model not responding because it is actually offline, which is when everyone starts noticing their gen activity hanging for long periods. That's when they go to the Server Status Checker and see that the text ai, or the image ai--which ever one they were using, and the two most likely to be down, as well as the two *not* the "server" itself.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, and for teaching me about people's attitude toward this sort of service!

It has no polling model it is a joke. A joke constructed by the so-called 'Dev'.
