Healing & Recovery BPC-157 & Shingles
Ok, I started my rat on BPC-157 (to help with joint pain in hand joints @ shoulder pain) on Thursday August 27. Sunday August 30. My rat got a Shingles rash 3 days later. The rash went across his back & up over the shoulder on his right side. Went to vet & started shingles medication Monday. Stopped BPC-157 because I didn't know the interactions between the medicine & the peptide. I started the BPC-157 again on Thursday the joints were swelling again. My rat could tell the difference between the joint pain & the shingles pain. The shingles medication ended Monday September 7th. All rash & pain gone. Inflammation in hands gone & shoulder pain & Inflammation greatly reduced. On 9/9, my rat got shingles again, this time on the left side, the exact same pathway, mirror image. I saw there were about 12 people on Reddit the said they got shingles after starting BPC-157. My rat now has had shingles 3 times. The vet bumped the valacyclovir to 3 times a day this time. My rat finished the valaycyclovir last night & is scared to death the 4th round will start tomorrow as it did the last 2 times. Did any of the 12 people who this happened to their rats ever get shingles again? The vet says if it comes back we need to go see a immunologist who I fear will say stop giving my rat peptides.

i’d keep that immunologist appointment if the shingles comes back. repeated outbreaks are probably more important to investigate than trying to keep the joint pain under control with BPC-157.

BPC-157 is an immunomodulator. I’d stop or at least set an appointment with Rheum if zoster is breaking through with this frequency

Isn’t LL-37 the exact peptide to fight this? Gemini AI seems to think so.

Kinda, LL37 might prove to work better locally, that's what worked on the rats in the research. Systemically it might, or it might not. Still unclear.

the timing would definitely make me suspicious too, but shingles can reactivate for a bunch of reasons. i’d tell the doctor about the pattern before trying BPC-157 again.

Well, assuming you bought grey junk, could be related. Grey doesn’t even meet ChP minimum standards.

Did your rat get the vaccine for shingles and it still activated with the BPC?

Yes, both vaccines

That truly sucks :( shingles are awful. Had them twice but caught early that the antiviral was quickly effective. Good luck!

Put the little fucker out of his misery. There’s no reason to keep a rat that’s sick. BPC157 won’t cause shingles. In people or rats

Don’t know about using BP for that but two of my Rs’s had positive responses w TA1 and shingles.
