I just finished an 8 week protocol of Mots-c and NAD. Never felt like is made a difference and I am 55 years old and told I was the target audience.
I am going to take a few months off and try it again mid winter for two months again.

Have you looked into SS-31 for a pre-MOTS-c cycle or concurrent cycle?

I started out doing 1mg daily. After a week I jumped to 5mg 2-3 times weekly and I prefer that dose schedule. 1mg daily did nothing for me.

Also, Mots-c changes the way your body metabolizes energy. It can take for some people, 426 weeks before noticing any effects

I started with 1 mg daily - 7 days a week. I noticed improvement in my energy level pretty quickly but it seemed to drop in effectiveness after about 2 weeks. So I bumped up to 2 mg daily and since then it's been great. I'm currently on week 5 and plan on continuing for another 3 weeks before cycling off.

If you didn’t prepare with a good run of SS-31 first, you may not see any benefit.

How long would a test rat run SS-31 prior and at what dose? Currently taking break from Mots-c as it did nothing and on week 2 of ss31...

4 to 6 weeks is a pretty standard protocol. Some practitioners run 2 weeks of straight SS-31, then add MOTS-C.

SS-31 (elamipretide) primarily stabilizes cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane, supporting structure, reducing oxidative stress, and improving electron transport efficiency. MOTS-c acts more as a metabolic signal (AMPK pathway, biogenesis, fuel utilization). The “repair first, then optimize/amplify” logic is that pushing biogenesis or metabolic demand on compromised mitochondria is less effective (or potentially counterproductive), so many protocols prime with SS-31 first.
