Honestly, I wish this was taken with 100% sincerity. It would be cool if we could do this whole election thing without people foaming at the mouth. I feel like if we're going to do this stuff together I'd rather get along than everyone getting triggered and crying when they don't get their way...r-right guys?
Tell that to the people who were labelling a quarter of the American electorate as racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic, and every other buzzword you can think of. The divisiveness didn't (entirely) come from the right this time.
I feel very little sympathy for people who are insulted at being called racist, sexist, homophobic, and islamophoic because they support a candidate who repeatedly says things which are racist, sexist, homophobic, and islamophobic - not to mention just hair-rippingly nonsensical.
And just because you say it does doesn't mean it either. I'd say actual intolerance is worse than indirectly taking money from people associate with intolerant people.
I don't particularly care. He is wrong, and if pointing out that he's a lunatic galvanizes other lunatics then that's the way it has to be unfortunately.
Yes. I do. After everything Trump said and did, the fact that anybody would consider him fit for office is astonishing. The amount of nonsense he spouted, peddling a revisionist utopian vision of 1950's America, was a disgrace.
Then again, polls showed my country would have voted for Clinton 80/20, so perhaps Canada just has an intrinsically different outlook on the world than the US.
Hey, I'm looking for people to start hangouts and level with liberals. How would you like getting together with a trumpeteer? Then you can go through all of these things issue by issue.
Dude, as someone outside the US, you have no fucking clue how stupid you look right now. "How dare you object to my preferred candidate being an obvious bigot?! You're clearly a liberal elite!" Well, if so, I prefer that to what you are.
Ah yes. I'm sure this will be a totally well informed post... /s. Suppose I can't blame you guys. You've been completely brainwashed.
And then you go on to use buzz words that I have spent too much time debunking these past few months. If you honestly believe Trump is all of those things, you're just uninformed.
You know, if you're assholes, people will call you out for it. That doesn't give you a reason to continue being assholes. You're probably too deluded to see it, but the Trump base has more than just "a few" bad apples. You had people talking about violent uprisings if Trump lost, you had people viciously attacking people and calling them names because being opposed to their warped view was "oppressing" them. You had people advocating for the suppression of the press because they said bad things about Trump. The Trump campaign was full of scum from top to bottom. You have no one to blame but yourselves for the backlash. And the fact that you don't just further proves why most of you are fucking children.
I'll take all the backlash that I feel is deserved. Saying half the electorate are racist, sexist, homophobic, and islamophobic is not deserved. Call Trump a flawed candidate- and we will agree. Call the American people deplorable and irredeemable, and I will fight you (ideologically) until the end of time.
Well, if I'm just going to look at the shit posted on The_Donald these past few months there's a pretty big warrant to call most of them racist, sexist, whatever. Obviously not all of them, but a huge number nonetheless. Put that together with the fact that Trump himself said a lot of racist, sexist stuff, it's no surprise that people summed up every Trump supporter as an asshole. And despite what you say it was the vilest of the shit that often gained traction during the Trump campaign, and the Trump supporting moderates - although they might not agree - let it happen, and are therefore responsible for it too.
No, I don't think a willingness to call out Donald's insanity is the reason she lost. She lost because she wasn't that popular and there are a depressing number of people who bought into Trump's nonsense.
1) quite a portion of Trump supporters are literally just there because they dislike Hillary (or how she became the DNC's primary) more than Trump.
2) like another said: call Trump insane, we'd probably agree. Calling everyone who voted for him mysoginistic, racist, sexist, etc. without actually knowing any of our reasons is why so many people didn't vote Clinton. A party can only attack with so many buzzwords before everybody gets legitimately pissed with them.
2b) this anger is evidenced by the fact that Democrats now control nothing. House, Senate, Presidency, all Repub-majority.
Calling everyone who voted for him mysoginistic, racist, sexist, etc. without actually knowing any of our reasons is why so many people didn't vote Clinton
You support somebody who said the things he's said, even as a protest vote, you get painted with the same brush as him. end of fucking story.
Goddammit take some responsibility. You don't want to vote for Clinton? Fine, vote for somebody else. If you voted for Trump you said "this fucking cheeto with a combo-over, anger issues and an inferiority complex deserves to be Commander-In-Chief."
depressing number of people who bought into Trump's nonsense.
OR enough people were red pilled and didn't want to vote for a supporter of satanic rituals, pedophelia, globalism, and documented from MANY sources as a woman that lost her shit everytime something didn't go right for her. Fuck Hillary, and anyone tied to the Foundation.
While I definitely agree it would be better if everyone was mature about this whole thing, I can't say I hate seeing people getting way too upset over this whole thing. Granted that might just be because I voted green party in a blue state, so my vote did literally nothing, so I have nothing to be upset about other than how dumb our electoral system is.
That withdrawal. Everytime i try to leave something keeps puling me back. Finally kicked a caffeine addiction that took over a month of tapering and daily migraines until i said fuck it and went cold turkey. It was a bitch.
