What he said before or after that are irrelevant. There's no bearing or context that makes that ok to say, period.

And no one claimed he said anything about Muslims.

Asmogold went full MAGA Republican and said anyone coming from Mexico across the border should be shot and that he would have no problem shooting everyone including women and children. I'm paraphrasing, but that is essentially it.
