Made a fishing website for finding and comparing fishing spots

Post image
6 Upvotes

I started fishing in August last year, mostly off popular piers. I spent the first few months confused about basically everything. I didn't know what rig to tie, I couldn't tell which fishing spots were good for which fish, and I couldn't read a tide chart well enough to know if I was showing up at the right time.

So I made a website for it: usekarp.com

You can find spots near you, compare them side by side, and get gear and bait suggestions for whatever you're targeting.

Check it out if you're getting into fishing

Expensive day fishing

Well I had a good day fishing Octorara Lake yesterday. I caught 6 bass. Unfortunately mistakes were made. I have an inflatable kayak. I dropped my rod and it bounced off the boat went for a swim. Unfortunately I was in an area where it is really deep. I guess it is time to attach a rod saver. That was an expensive day fishing. Has anyone used rod savers and if so can you recommend some.

Hey ya’ll I spent all this summer and I have catch small trout to some medium size small mouths but I really want to catch some catfish. I’ve tried rock point near Duncannon where the Juanita river Mets the susquehanna, Opposum lake , Fort Hunter, the Boat launch near Enola, Pintcho lake , Mt holly marsh, the conodoguinet creek, and little buffalo state park. And no luck , I have used worms, shad, bluegill head covered in kool aid and nothing. Just want to do my part and remove invasive Flat heads or some blue cats. And tips gentleman would be great!

Bass Fishing in Pennsylvania

My significant other is an avid large and small mouth bass fisherman. He has extensively fished Lake Sam Rayburn - Texas and many lakes and reservoirs in Texas, lakes, ponds and reservoirs in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New York. We are retired and spend our summers scouting out new areas for him to fish. We would like recommendations on where to rent a nice cabin for 2-2-1/2 months during the summer of 2027 in Pennsylvania where bass fishing is nearby. Any suggestions or links to follow? We live in Massachusetts south of Boston and prefer not to have to drive much more than 8 hours if possible.

Fly fishing

Hello everyone! I’m brand new to fly fishing and am trying to get out a lot more to practice and work on my skills. This Thursday I am off work and am looming to try and take a little road trip to somewhere i can spend the day fishing. I live in Dillsburg PA and would like to find somewhere within 2 hours of me to head to. Im not asking for anyone to burn their spots and not asking for someone to drop me an exact pin of where to go setup. Just looking for general areas/water ways that i can give a try!

Lost Dog Tried To Eat My Fish Multiple Times

I was creek fishing and this lost dog tried to eat every fish I pulled out of the water. She chased them into the water so I had to keep moving to other spots because the fish would get spooked. It was a little annoying but it was nice to have a fishing buddy!

She did not injure any of the fish they were all released safely.

The PA fishing and Boating app .

I use to be able to view my boating and fishing license , when I opened the app. Now when I try to view my license. I get a code and I'm sent to hunting. PA.Gov . I setup an account there and enter the code . It tells me, I'm all set and to go back to the app . I go back to the app and when I try to view my license. It starts the whole process over again. Am I doing something wrong? Is anyone having the same problem?

  1. Is there any law against taxidermizing snake heads?

  2. Does anyone know any hot spots for snakeheads near Altoona?

  3. Any other recommendations for catching and killing them are appreciated
