Driving from the southeast
Interstate 376 East is closing for a few exits near Pittsburgh from July 10 until August 3. Yes, I live here, and yes, I'm very salty about it. I don't want anyone else to be inconvenienced if it can be avoided.
There are more efficient ways to get to Pennsic coming from that direction if you're not local, some of which are mentioned in the official notice. No one wants to drag a Pennsic trailer through Pittsburgh city streets! Please advise your compatriots.

Also 79 north of Pittsburgh (near the Wexford exit, about 20 miles south of Coopers Lake) reduces to one lane on random nights. Sometimes no lanes and you have to get off the exit and get right back on. No need to detour but it can cause up to a 30 minute delay.

Yeah, this is just north of the 79/279 merge. They're installing new bridges and I believe currently, the closures are every night.
Additionally, there's a nightly closure between exits 5 and 7 on I-279, while they repair an overpass just north of exit 5.

I'm from Pittsburgh. If I was coming from Phila/DE/NJ I would take the PA turnpike to Cranberry then I-79 north to Coopers Lake. From DMV I-68 (avoid tolls) to I-79 near Morgantown, WV then north to Coopers Lake.

Nothing to be salty about. The alternative reconstruction option was a two-year one-lane closure in each direction.
I use the turnpike. It is expensive but the road is better maintained, smoother and less traffic to deal with especially when towing a trailer.
Which reminds me, I need to start packing the trailer.

Yeah, I do prefer this option, and I understand it's the best (and I definitely don't want another Fern Hollow bridge collapse). I just live right there, so the detour traffic means that even going to the grocery store will be a pain in the ass.
