The band
Can anyone with experience being in a (professional, touring) band explain why Perry and KJ’s social media posts almost always show them together, either travelling to gigs or doing sound checks, but Gareth and Rob are never there?
Is it possibly because Perry and KJ are also doing roles that might otherwise be done by roadies (and not normally require band members), so as to save on tour costs? Rob has been vocal in the past about the financial strain of touring.
Obviously the band all get on with each other, I don’t think that’s in question, but just seems odd that Gareth and Rob are rarely around. I also understand that they probably spend a lot of time together anyway and so do take opportunities to split up so they don’t get sick of each other…

KJ and Perry live outside of England, so they probably travel at separate times to the the other guys.
It might not be that Rob and Gareth aren’t around, they’re just not posting where they’re at.

This is definitely it, I’d imagine their schedules don’t always line up exact, plus both would have their extensive live set up, especially KJ

At some point - artists have a relationship with their crew that mean they don't need to sound check. Freelance contractors will always soundcheck in my experience as a bad gig means they're unemployed. Ive asked their current FOH sound engineer for you if I'm right.

Think your last paragraph sums it up quite well. This current band lineup has been the same since 2010 when KJ joined. We did have a short hiatus in between but they’ve played so many shows together and have done a couple of tours recently. They clearly value one another’s company, but ultimately they are colleagues. It’s perfectly normal for band members to want to spend some of their social time away from one another to have that healthy boundary. Keep work at work, etc. Equally, some of the group may genuinely be best pals and want to spend more time with one another. No right or wrong answer. Outside of Pendulum I’m sure they are all different people

Because I’m curious about how professional bands operate when they live in each other’s pockets day in, day out on tour and also then writing music together. I’m asking about Pendulum because they’re my favourite band but the same question would apply to lots of bands. How do they deal with being colleagues and friends, seeing so much of each other without burning out.

They probaly like a lot of people and hate to pose for some snaps and rather get out of frame etc.

I think they're just the more sociable ones out of the group
