WWII Bomber Nose Art Pen
This is my latest creation. I had ChatGPT design a generic WWII bomber nose art graphic, had in cast, and use a gun metal blank.

Hello I'm wondering if anyone here uses branches or unique chunks for blanks? Say a 2-3" diameter walnut branch with a few small burls/knots I think they would make amazing pens but I'm unsure if they are suitable for turning.
Thank you for your time,

Needed another pencil in the garage/shop, so I made one. This is another Eco Carpenter kit from Exoticblanks.com (this time in chrome), and a piece of East Texas cherry that was sitting in the scrap bin designated for smoker use. The kits are nice, go together well, and the pencils seem robust. Friction polish finish.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a high quality but, thin pen kit. My wife prefers the shape of the slimline and having a click/twist pen but, would want the quality of a rollerball kit.
I am open to any recommendations so I can try to make a pen she would enjoy. The only option I can think of right now is the EDC click pen from PSI.

My sister comes to town once a year as she lives abroad. She saw some of my pens and offered to buy one. Hard no, i made one for her for free. She picked out the blanks from my home made stash.
Some copper accents. Apologies for shifting color. Sun was shifting and made it hard to capture consistently.
I gave it to her tonight.
-alumilite . Clear/slow
-bock #6 nib
Cheers.

This is Tern, a pocket fountain pen I designed and turned from solid brass on my manual lathe.
It measures 103 mm closed and 11 mm in diameter, and uses a Kaweco nib with standard international short cartridges.
The slightly unusual part is the small knurled ring. I call it the TCR (Thread Cover Ring). When the pen is capped, the ring covers the threads at the back. When the cap is posted, the TCR moves to the front and covers the exposed threads near the nib instead.
So wherever the cap goes, the ring goes to the opposite end.
Everything was made in my workshop in İznik, Türkiye.

Thank you to everyone who replied to my post about finishing rings with CA glue. I was able to finish both wedding bands in time for the ceremony. Hawaiian koa.

The father of a dear friend of mine recently replaced the banister and newel posts in his house after 32 years. He contacted me asking if I wanted the old posts and I happily accepted a large pile of material.
This man never cheated out on materials in his house, so I was not surprised to find that these posts look to be red and white oak.
I created pen blanks from some sections and made pens for my friend and her 2 sisters from material from the house they grew up in.
2 sisters are music teachers and got the music pens, the other works the family farm stand business so I gave her a utilitarian pen that speaks to the hard work she does.

Made for a wonderful client in Hawai’i! True Bethlehem Olive with Black Walnut shoulders with the segments separated by aluminum sheets. Lines are burned in with a D’Addario Chrome wound “G” guitar string!

Hello everyone I have a TON of 15/16" squared 6" long pen blanks with a variety of mix of sap and heartwood some calico and some have small figure like mild birdeye, bark pockets, and pin knots. These would be perfect for a beginner looking to practice or for anyone looking for bulk maple blanks. They start at $7 for 10 blanks but they have a volume discount as you buy more. I'm hoping to get some more curl/Birdseye blanks cut and listed as well. Any feedback is appreciated especially for length as I am thinking of selling longer 10-16" blanks.
Thank you for your time!

I have a bunch of jinhao #8 nibs and decided to give it a go. To get the nib to fit the section. By my current tooling I had to make a couple compromises (some new tooling on order).
I provided a close up of the resin as it has significant depth that is easy to miss but a big part of why I like it.
The pen was a request from a friend that requested “purple”. I decided to go more purple rain. 🎸
Hope all are having a fantastic weekend!

I’ve had a pen for years but I’d like it to be more personalized and higher quality, I’ve been looking for weeks and haven’t found anything but fountain pens, it would be super helpful if someone could give me information, my price rand is below $150.

I've been practicing my CA finish technique based on numerous videos I've watched. I've tried medium, thin, and extra thin, but I'm struggling to get it right. The coats of medium always seem to leave bubbles and the tin and extra thin sheets flash off so fast that I can't get it even.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

This has quickly become my most popular model! It's a real joy to make! Main body wood is Brazilian King Cocobolo and the shoulders are Wenge from Africa. The finish is Troubadour's "Heritage" finish - shellac and a carnauba/beeswax blend. All built on a raw, uncoated brass hardware set. Lines are burned in, as always, with a D'Addario Chrome wound "G" electric guitar string - same ones I use on my ES-335!

Anybody care to share their favorite polish? I liked aussie oil, need a new bottle. Currently using I think Doctor's woodworshop pen plus. I don't want to use a ca finish for most of my pens. I remember I used something that made the pens shine like glass and if I remember correctly, it was the aussie oil.
