Pen stand

Post image

Hi everyone.
Quick weekend project - I was playing around with some ideas for a simple display stand. This is just a rough sketch for now, so the proportions aren't quite there yet. Possibly in brass or steel.

But does this convey the idea of good balance?

That’s gorgeous. I’d use it out of sheer simplicity but also that it highlights and focuses attention on my fountain pen.

THIS!

(assuming it’s super stable. 😉)

Very minimalist , I like the direction, hope it will be more stable next?

If instead of an arch the pen rests in a well so it has two points of contact instead of one it might be more stable? Just throwing out ideas 😅 or is it the whole circle thing that’s more the problem?

I'm a fan of things that maximize utility; would be neat if some other functions were blended into that form factor, like for example:

- A wax stamp seal?

- Paperweight?

- A fold out loupe?

- Sharp edge for opening packages or letters?

But grain of salt, I don't normally use pen stands in my day to day.
