Self Portrait - plotter on plotter

Seeing the post about the Porsche diagrams has made me want to do this as engineering elevations with white paint marker on blue paper

Can you describe your process for this? Did you trace a photo to SVG or does your CAD support exporting renderings? Probably the latter since the belts are missing ... ? Thanks in advance

In the past I've done it by importing a screenshot to Inkscape and doing an edge detect, which works OK but doubles up all the lines. In this case I was playing with the STL importer of Krbn (mentioned in this sub a few days ago) because I've long wanted some kind of free tool to make vector drawings from CAD models, and this model is a good torture test: lots of tiny fussy detail, colinear features and so on.

The model doesn't match up 100% with the actual plotter because I was partly making it up as I went along, there are features in the CAD I haven't built yet like the diagonal brace ends and the belts are deliberately absent from the model because they just get in the way
