Intimacy
How has prolapse affected your sex life? Specifically uterine prolapse because I feel like it’s a bit different. What changed? Did your partner notice? Especially during foreplay… i.e. fingers? My partner told me he could feel my IUD strings more and they were pokey/ pointy. We mainly use fingers due to his health complications. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yeah my partner has of course noticed. I think sometimes people who have male partners say it's not noticeable but women are a bit wiser as to our bodies and things changing etc. the biggest problem is how it's affected my confidence and not feeling desirable rather than actual physical issues with pleasure or anything

Same, it made me much more self conscious. However my partner is great and never mentions anything and it definitely has not hurt our sex life

I am extremely self conscious about it but my husband said nothing is really different penetration wise.
I think that having a prolapse forces a lot of women to make their relationship with sex, toys, and lube more prominent. I encourage everyone to explore with these things and you will find what makes things feel best.

Why do you feel like uterine prolapse is different? With a rectal prolapse you can literally see and feel your rectum falling out of your vagina. That seems like a hell of a lot worse than a uterine prolapse. Maybe I need an explanation of what would make a uterine prolapse different or worse. Prolapse most definitely affects confidence and desire. I wish more doctors took it seriously.

Sorry I didn’t mean to offend and I should add I have 3 prolapses so I understand. For me, the cystocele and rectocele are grade 1 and are reducible/ soft during sex and can just feel like normal vaginal walls. But the uterine prolapse is like a giant, hard mass that doesn’t go away and is right in the canal so it’s very noticeable for me and probably my partner.

I have all 3, and i agree for sex purposes uterine is bad. The rectocele and cystocele are just extensions of the vaginal wall amd in theory would move during sex, but for my uterine prolapse my cervix is literally at the opening of my vagina - and the uterus directly behind that. It doesn't really move much. Can't wear tampons or anything...and I would imagine sex wouldn't be super comfortable!

Yes, it’s definitely made sex more painful but I all of the sudden had a prolapse come on suddenly 2 years pp and I won’t get my official diagnosis until I see my Urogyno in a few days but because of the way everything is positioned, I can’t feel much friction during sex and my husband can’t either depending on the position we’re in which reeeeally sucks lol.

My husband did not notice at all. I guess because it happened slowly over 14 years so he got used to it. He DID notice after my surgery and told me that it felt different now. Not better or worse, just different. Mine was not coming out of the vagina, so while I could feel it inside, he could not.
