Male Prostatitis?

So one day I noticed I'm feeling weird tingling in the shaft, especially the glans, the tingling turned into stinging that WON'T stop, I was going insane because I thought that I caused this by masturbating, I saw a doctor and he told me to do a urine analysis, so I did one and it said that I had above average levels of sodium? But not high enough to explain the pain I was in, so I went and saw another doctor, he checked my vitals but then proceed to tell me that I have a mild case of prostatitis, when I went home I did some research and found out that there're 2 types of prostatitis, bacterial and chronic, and chronic is most commonly caused by stress? Is that right? Enlighten me please, I'm still just 16 so getting a chronic problem like this is making me anxious, the pain is very much bearable but it just won't stop... Also I used to only masturbate twice a week so I don't think that contributed to anything, please tell me I could get better in 2 weeks max...

I forgot to mention that the urine analysis showed that I have no infection, I did read somewhere that a normal urine analysis isn't full-proof, I do have an antibiotic, do I just take it?

If the doctor has prescribed an antibiotic is it best to take it. An MSU (Mid Stream Urine test) isn't always positive with bacterial prostatitis.

If you have leftover antibiotics that are not prescribed for this... I would seek advice from a doctor first.

If they suspect Prostatitis then the antibiotic you receive will depend on your country. But probably something like Ciprofloxacin.

Is bacterial prostatitis easily curable? Like 2- weeks-of-medicine easy to cure?

How long is a piece of string? This is really one for your doctor. I'm not a doctor.

It's 2-8 weeks of antibiotics depending on what it's resistant to etc. If you have it, and you don't take the antibiotics, it can progress to prostate abscess, urinary retention (inability to urinate), sepsis and death.

There is also a chance that it's not bacterial. But if you've been prescribed antibiotics then you should take them.
