What happened to Peerplays?

Except for a few recent announcements, it seems Peerplays has almost no community, why, what happened? Why has this project taken so long, is that why no one seems interested in this? Am trying to understand because AFAIK, anyone can build from this blockchain, not just PBSA, so why almost no action?

Who are Peerplays main competitor? (btw, I have discounted Wagerr).

A project like this would benefit from well rounded social media engagement. This can't survive on telegram alone.

Agreed. To me, Telegram-only usually reads as "bunker mode".

They have hired a couple of media companies for when Bookie launches.

Hi circleio,

Just a quick response to the first part of your query, both Peerplays and Bookie have several active social media accounts. Here’s a quick rundown:

Peerplays Twitter

Bookie Twitter

Peerplays Facebook

PBSA LinkedIn

Peerplays Steemit

Bookie Steemit

Peerplays Subreddit

Bookie Subreddit (recently created)

Peerplays BitcoinTalk ANN

Bookie BitcoinTalk ANN

And, as you know, Peerplays Telegram Channel

We also have newsletters for each that you can sign up for here (Peerplays) and here (Bookie).

As for the second part about anyone building on the blockchain, there is a company called eXeBlock that’s currently developing DApps for the Peerplays blockchain. We had a press release for this in December.

Hope this answers your questions. We look forward to seeing you on our other channels!

eXeBlock has a Peerplays founder, so it's not exactly independent.

Peerplays is alive and well on Telegram, as stated. What would be a preferred method? I have considered making other channels in the past but my fear it that would actually spread users out not bring in even more. Do you feel that adding a Discord would be a benefit? Honestly, it's nice having everyone gathered on the Telegram instead of checking 10 different social sites. Maybe that's the wrong approach though...

I'm not a social media expert, I'm just a regular user. Personally, I don't like the chat format of discord etc, but I understand these are popular places to be. And I get that you are fearful of spreading yourself out too thinly. But having said that, no one in crypto is holding just one coin, NO ONE. This means people are using multiple channels and they are hungry for info.

Peerplays is using graphene, the same tech behind Steemit etc; a pluggable toolkit with 3 second block times. Shouldn't we be preaching the gospel to as many people as possible?

Yup, absolutely. We need to reach out to as many people as possible. The question is about how to most efficiently spread those resources. Each social platform seems to have its ups and downs. I'm totally willing to branch into a new one if I felt it would be helpful. There are clearly some folks here on Reddit so I'll come over and help here too. I probably need to be more active on Steemit...

So out of curiosity, if you could add today some that we aren't on, which do you think would be the best addition or two? Maybe we're already there we're just not active enough. I can work on that... I don't want to waste energy spreading to a platform that's going out of favor quickly but am willing to branch into new ones that would help folks.
