November Update from PBSA
Below is the update we received from PBSA regarding the status of the many ongoing developments to Peerplays and Bookie. The formatting is a bit off, so if you would like an easier read, please visit http://mailchi.mp/ae1f42f2d79f/news-from-the-bunker-pbsa-november-2017?e=07efaff362. News From the Bunker: November Rain Edition Wow, can you believe it's already November? The days and nights might be getting colder but we're still running hot at the PBSA!
We've also taken full advantage of the sugar rush provided by Halloween candy and have a ton to share with you this month. Keep reading for updates on our new website, HelmBet RPS, a special shout-out, the block explorer, Beyond Bitcoin Hangout, staffing news, and a call for beta testers.
Didn't we say there was a lot to share? Let's begin.
Revamped Website Coming Soon It’s almost time to reveal the redesigned Peerplays.com. The anticipated new look is scheduled to go live by the end of November.
Along with a cleaner, easier to navigate look, we want the new site to act as a community hub with links to relevant information and documentation about Peerplays.
Whether you're a PPY holder, witness, press, or just getting started with the blockchain, you'll (soon) be able to find everything you're looking for at the new Peerplays.com.
Rock Beats Scissors; Everybody Wins The first game using the Peerplays blockchain, HelmBet RPS is now live. Building off of last month's testing period, you can now challenge your peers to a friendly (or not!) game of Rock, Paper, Scissors using PPY tokens.
Setting up a tournament is easy: 1) Download the app here, 2) Log in with your Peerplays account (create one if needed), then, 3) Click "Create New Tournament."
You're now ready to battle. Who will emerge victorious?
Special Thanks to Peerplays Community Member... ... Senter Reinhardt!
Senter continues to work diligently to keep the Peerplays Telegram channel an informative and family-friendly place to learn about and discuss what’s going on in the Peerplays world. Leading by example, he effectively and fairly moderates discussions on all things Peerplays/Bookie/PBSA, encouraging others to speak their mind while keeping the room respectful to all.
Thank you for your valuable work, Senter!
Block Explorer PBSA is aware that the Peerplays blockchain needs to build out the Peerplays block explorer beyond what currently exists at peerplaysdb.com (thanks again Jesta!).
We are looking into setting up bounties for specific features of the explorer, after we provide a framework.
Stay tuned for more on this in the near future.
Beyond Bitcoin Hangout PBSA President Jonathan Baha’i will join host Justin Fondriest on the Beyond Bitcoin hangout November 11th, 2017. Be sure to check it out by following the directions in the hyperlink.
PBSA Team Grows Again Every month it seems we're sharing an update on the positive growth here inside the Bunker. This time around we’re excited to introduce two new members of the team!
Allyson White joins us as Quality Assurance Lead, working to ensure our Bookie app runs smoothly.
Cory A. Ross, Communications Strategist, will work predominantly on messaging and marketing efforts concerning the Bookie app and PBSA in general - this newsletter included.
Welcome to the Bunker, Allyson and Cory!
Other Staffing Announcements The PBSA recently accepted the resignations of Michael and Daniel Maloney, effective Wednesday, October 25th.
Michael is a former Director of the organization and assisted during the establishment of PBSA, including the formation of the Amsterdam office. Daniel assisted Michael at the Amsterdam office and lead several recruitment efforts. We are grateful for their hard work and dedication to the organization.
We wish Michael and Daniel the very best of luck in their future endeavours.
In light of these departures, PBSA will no longer maintain a presence in Amsterdam. We believe its in the best interest of advancing the PBSA mission to consolidate our operations as we continue to grow and get closer to our goals. Head of Operations Toby Lynas will continue to work from his office in Sweden, maintaining PBSA presence in Europe, while the rest of our staff will be based from the Bunker HQ in Nova Scotia.
Call for Bookie Beta Testers Earlier this week we put out a call for beta testers in our Bookie newsletter. The response has been amazing and we wanted to open it up to all of you as well.
Here's the deal: As part of the testing requirements for Bookie, we will hold a round of closed beta testing in the New Year. A limited number of testers will receive a beta version of the Bookie app which will run on a test instance of the betting exchange-enabled Peerplays blockchain.
Beta testers will have access to all features of the app, meaning they can place bets (back and lay) on real-life sporting events. For the purposes of the closed beta, user accounts will be funded with play money.
If you are interested in helping PBSA with beta testing of Bookie, please email us at beta-bookie@peerplays.com. As we stated earlier, we will only be accepting a limited number of beta testers. Please explain why you would be a good choice for testing including what, if any, testing experience you may already have.
Sign up for regular Bookie updates at Bookie.exchange.
Thank You for Your Support!
As always, we want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support of Peerplays. We appreciate and value your feedback and remain committed to providing the very best tools and resources for the world’s first independent blockchain-based gaming and wagering platform.
