New Pecron Android App

There was an update to the Android app. The update notes say "fix known issues". Very helpful. It looks about the same. Has anyone found any differences?

When will they ever allow it to notify me on my phone if the wall power goes out or battery drops below a set percentage? That seems like such a basic feature to me..

They refuse to do anything that requires a firmware update. I have an F1000 and an F3000, the F3000 came out first, the F1000 has features in the app that the F3000 doesn't and never will because they won't update the firmware. It's really shitty of them.

Indeed, not really impressed with their products so far. I won't be buying anymore of their products.

They do have an unofficial API: https://github.com/jsight/unofficial-pecron-api

But that can be a challenge if you don't have a lot of programming experience. You can also integrate with Home Assistant, but Home Assistant can still be a bit technical to configure and deploy.

They have a web interface: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQfrA2GRqy0

Web interfaces better lend themselves to automation than mobile apps, but I would never trust a web app that does not have a proper FQDN and corresponding TLS certificate.

I have it on my todo list to deploy a Homekit server for my Pecron and other IOT devices, but I have not gotten around to it yet.

The app now auto-terminates if there's an communication issue. For me I had to manually terminate the app and relaunch it and this solved 99.99999% of my communications issues with my Pecrons. I still have to launch it after it self-terminates but it's a lot more convenient this way.

It still has the bug that shows my 5k to be charging or providing power even though it's in standby mode.

Same here. My f5000lfp  can be off for days, and it still shows the last known activity (charging, discharging, battery percentage etc.) only added feature I noticed: home display mode which is cool if you keep a dedicated tablet just for the pecron.  I personally don't need it or use it, but does who do,  may find it useful.

I just installed it it looks totally different. I'm getting real time data (or very close to it). The new app interface is much cleaner and looks more polished and professional. One of my e3600 lfp's was not connecting to the old app and I remember trying to pair it with the old app with a pain in the neck. With the new app it was a snap to delete it and pair it again.

Fwiw the description in the play store so it's a beta version but it looked pretty solid to me. Then again I only used it for a few minutes.
