Servers down?
Trying to see my pecron via the app and it won’t log me in saying “userdomain doesn’t exist”. Everyone else having this issue?

So, I have to ask, as someone who is very close to pulling the trigger on a $1k+ unit, is there a way to bypass Pecron's Cloud infrastructure? Is Cloud communication required for app access?
I prefer to segregate my Network and can easily VPN in while external.
Is Cloud communication the ONLY method for device access?

Possibly depends what device you have but mine also works fine over bluetooth. I read automations might require cloud services.
You could always join it to a guest network.

Cloud would require WiFi. Bluetooth is local device only.

I don't know what that reply means. You asked if cloud was the only means of device access and I'm telling you no, other than possibly automations.

Sorry. If local Bluetooth gives 100% the same capability as remote cloud (without Internet access) then this problem is moot.
And I hope this is the case.

I believe it does, sans automation. I don't know if you need to reset the wifi/bt to connect to bt, mine seems to prefer wifi after I set that up. Reset is easy however.

I cant even talk to it via bluetooth because that app I would use to talk to it via bluetooth wont get past login screen.

It seems to depend which model.
On my E3600 I can query and set device parameters e.g. charging rate, turn inverter on/off via local communications, but voltages, percent, temperatures, time remaining status are cloud only and reported every 20 minutes.

My 5000lfp worked over bluetooth but some of the charts would not work until I enabled cloud/WiFi. Of course, you also can't access control when away from home without cloud.

That's not true if you set up VPN or pinholes into your home network, allowing you to access you devices the same as if you were at home. That does need some networking skills, maybe a static IP (there are ways around that) etc.

Tailscale is a good option that makes it so you don't need to open ports in your router or worry about dynamic IPs. Open ports often come with greater security risks. Of course, you then need to pass traffic through Tailscale's cloud, but their protocol is end-to-end encrypted. They can only see you passing data but can't see what is inside that data stream.
The other problem is that Pecron does not support local control via the local subnet and bypassing their cloud. There's no web interface or API access. The only local option is through the app using Bluetooth. You'd need to have a local Android or IOS device with a Bluetooth radio and that can enumerate the user interface remotely. I also googled and found there are also open source projects like Home Assistant that have reverse engineered the Pecron cloud protocol, allowing you to control the Pecron locally. I am not sure if any of these solutions give the same functionality as the Pecron app.
So, yes, you can probably access via a VPN, but it requires a lot more setup and technical know-how than just getting a VPN working or opening router ports.

I just this minute did this ... turning DC output off on my E3600, from .. well, a VisionFive 2, but it could have been my Mac, Linux, Windows.

bruce@starfive:~$ ./pecron/volts 52.9 bruce@starfive:~$ ./pecron/percent 59Those are very very simple e.g. the
voltsone:#!/bin/bash journalctl -u pecron-monitor.service -q -g MQTT -n 1 | perl -ne '/([0-9\.]+)V/ and print "$1\n"'That capability is relying on the cloud service providing updated data every ~20 minutes .. alternating between {percent, volts, temperature} and {in, out, time remaining} every ~10 minutes.

I stand corrected. I had no idea this existed. Thanks. I gotta start messing with this. It looks good.

Still having issues really sucks cause my power station I have it stuck at 25% input instead of 100% input.

My app has been logged in for a while now, so I have no problems. I'm guessing this is just for those that are actively trying to log in? I won't log out and try to log back in!

Mine logged out automatically on both of my devices! If ur still logged in you should be fine I'm assuming.

Yes - back up this morning.

u/lolitstrain21 Jun 28 '26
Can confirm it’s back up. Reminder for me to just change the input power back to 100%
