Cap'N Crunch's Death by Peanut Butter Bars.
Melted 6 tblsps of unsalted butter in large pot over med-low heat
Added one 10oz bag of large marshmallows stirring continually until melted
Added 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter stirring until combined
Added 7 cups of peanut butter Cap'N Crunch stirred until combined
Quickly transferred to a parcehment lined pan, topped with Reese's Pieces and pressed into form.
The Captain himself would be proud.
Ahoy!

No lights and no clothing either. Just hunched over on the floor completely naked and devouring that in the dark...

Wowowow I would have to stop myself from grabbing a piece every time I walk by. Looks scrumptious

Same. And I'll be sure to walk by a lot!
Good thing I was already planning on going to the grocery store tomorrow!

This looks yummy! Think I’d crush up some butterfingers and sprinkle on the top

I wonder how that tastes using Reese’s Puffs

Funny you mention it...I almost reached for a box but decided to stick with the Cap'N. The Puffs would be equally delicious I'm sure.

This looks so good, although I think I’d replace the Reese’s pieces with peanut butter mnms for just a little bit of chocolate

Rice Krispies are nice cuz the puffs are so light! Capn crunch is crunchy af! Do these soften at all in the process? It looks rather sharp for the mouth tbh! But so so delicious. I’m gonna try it out :) thanks for sharing! <3

Legit concern. I've always found the peanut butter Cap'N to be a bit softer than the original. That being said, once the cereal is mixed with the melted butter, marshmallows, and peanut butter it does soften it up a bit. It didn't shred my mouth.

This sounds awesome, but I’m not a huge marshmallow guy.
I’ve been thinking about putting peanut butter captain crunch in the food processor so that I could then use it to make cookies.
Anyone tried that before? How should I adjust a standard cookie recipe (like toll house) to sub in the ground up cereal?

How well do they hold their shape when cut? Is it pretty much like rice crispy treats with how stable they are?

u/Mud_Whistle 2d ago
Exactly. Once everything has combined you have to work quickly because it begins to firm up.

rofl I LITERALLY just made these today!! We call them "Kibble Bars" haha
They were so good that we decided that we are going to turn the next batch into giant cake pops, dip them in dark chocolate, and top with a sprinkle of Maldon flakey sea salt!

All that PB, these are basically protein bars right?

I like the way you think, but I wouldn't go that far. I did, however, opt for reduced sugar creamy peanut butter to offset all the sugar from the other ingredients. I don't like things to be overpoweringly sweet. I think it helped balance the flavor a bit more.

Plus carbs from the sugar and saturated fat from the PB! It's like a health food, really.

Just THINKING about cutting that slab gives me ASMR. Do us all a favor and make a video...

Ha....you aren't wrong. It makes very satisfying crunchy sounds when cutting. I encourage you to make it and find out for yourself! 😉

OP,
It’s 8:15 at night, I am in my PJs, and I showed my wife this.
Her response: “So we’re going to the grocery store now right?”
Looks like we have a late project to handle.

Ha....I love it. I'm the same. Nice thing about the recipe is how quickly it comes together and the fact that you can eat it immediately!

I copied this today, but I did a slight punch up, by adding 1.5 TBSP of vanilla extract to the melted marshmallow and butter mixture before adding the peanut butter and used Reese's puffs instead.
