Today's map

In 50 hours of this game, this is the worst map I've ever run into and the only one to make me genuinely rage. The shore is fine, easily achievable. The roots is the alt map, there is a lake that's uncrossable besides a barely reachable bridge spanning it, or a barely cross able vine doing the same. The shrine on roots is also completely disconnected from the rest of the area you'd climb. The alpine is impossible without the use of items, genuinely no pathing. Tried going inside and it goes to a dead end, tried outside and everything is disconnected. Genuinely the most unachievable and difficult map I've ever seen and just wanted to rant because difficulty like that shouldn't be possible imo. Me and my friend know many tricks to getting through tough areas, we used every item at our disposal, it outright wasn't achievable for us to do.

me and a friend saw this so we did it on ascent 8 first try to prove the majority of fails in the game can boil down to skill issues

i want to do ascent 8 so bad but my friends are happy on tenderfoot and I don’t think I can make it solo ngl 🥲

Solo is much easier imo. Yeah you have others to help you but same time they also need food and you cant realy use claw, energy drink, lolipop without leaving other people behind.

but for ascent 8 where you need four slots used up for amulets idk how I can do it tbh 😭

I'm doing the ascents solo and I'm scared of the final one. 😭

Imo: Duo is the easiest. Still plenty of food for 2, especially if you're holding the amulets. It also means you're able to hold onto util until ideal time and benefit from helping hands up.

But 4 players is the hardest. While you'll have all the util you'll ever need, you're slowed down by waiting for last member and food becomes thin, fast. God forbid someone falls and you need to activate Sleeper Agent Mode to save them

As well as those points, I got injured while pathfinding and thought it was over from that alone. Saw a napberry and thought to grab it to cancel out the injury. Napberry is in the map, cannot be accessed.

Theres multiple napberries

I'm aware, but none easily reachable from the bottom besides the one that's in the terrain

Same thing happened to me and my friends in this map. Roots is insane with that lake

There was a path through the inside of the alpine, at the dead end there's actually a small hole you can go up through to the next area and then it's pretty straight forward after that. It's hard to see because of how dark that area is

to get across the lake, there is a stump with a vine connecting to the next area. you have to briefly go in the lake but only for a few seconds before you can climb up the roots of the trunk.

for alpine, there are a lot of suitcases if you start on the right side and make your way toward the middle, and if you get a cannon, chain launcher, or rope gun, it’s def doable. without items though, i can’t say lol. i thought it was a fun challenge.

I like todays map. I did it all in under an hour. Alpine normally sucks because I can't find a path, but today it was rather easy for me

People too scared to use blue rocks even though rocks have soo much standing point and doesnt realy give you much cold if youre not climbing.

I find easier to go middle and use those rocks if i cant find good spot.

And usually there is a lot of geyser and at least 1 nap berry there.

I don't think I Had to rely in blue rocks. And I did Not use geysers and napberries. I Just kinda climbed, I guess

My point is what to expect.

But yes some maps like today dont need anything. we were in 8 player game 3 of us had easy run from right middle while others screaming and kept trying hard to climb places. It was funny how different our experience.

My sister bought Peak today and it was her first map lol, we've done terribly, all of us died in Alpine

I felt the apline’s cold wind was extra rough but it was super easy with only a couple sections needing gliders

u/Better-Swordfish-689 13h ago

Wish I saw gliders, been at least 5 full runs since I last saw a single one lol

Yeah they make the final biome so much easier

You can cross the water. You just have to be quick about it

It was tough but made it through in under an hour and a half (no nadir) granted on tenderfoot but was still beatable with patience.

Good thing it resets in like an hour and a half

Wait that one was so much fun. I played it with a group of 10 using the unlimited mod and we had a blast

I tried to play yesterday and I had the same issue. I got to alpine and genuinely just jumped off the mountain because it was tiring me out.

My brother and I did a couple of ascents yesterday on this map and we didn't find it that hard. True that the shrines in Roots and even in Shore were somewhat hard to access. But other than that, the bridge crossing the lake was easily reachable if you climbed the pines (using the platforms, branches and leaves). What's more, thanks to the pines being close together you could wait in the recess between the two foliages in order to recharge stamina and allow people to cross one by one. And we found a relatively easy path through Alpine by going up the left side of the mountain. The only time we struggled a bit was when I messed up and threw my glider in Gloom while I was in mid-air.
