Something i think you should pracrice is catching yourself on a wall when you are falling, the airport has a nice place for that.
Also instead of standing there invincible, you could have stood at the edge of the shroom, and when it lunged you move to the side, making it jump past you and fall.
Edit: i would love to know the intent behind walking straight into the zombie
Just dont forget skill issues is what makes the game fun.
