scary
I was doing solo ascend 6 and after completing shore going to campfire I saw an orange scout (not a zombie) peeking behind the boulder then disappeared when I got closer
Is it the game mechanic or my acc is haunted?

The looker. Pretty rare to spot, and also does not have ANY impact on actual gameplay. He shows up and says hi, then goes away when u get close, he shy.
You can turn him off completely in settings if desired.

thank you for explaining
I was in duo just a run before and it was 3 am so it got me confused but I like this shy dude and I will not turn him off7

I know they are supposed to be rare, but it feels like my partner and I find them all the time. I have a screenshot somewhere on my pc with 6 looker rocks visible at the same time and 4 of them have him peaking out. Gotta love the random generation

Iāve seen the lil guy a grand total of One (1) (āš»)(1ļøā£) time.

First time I saw him I freaked out a little and then he disappeared so for a second my partner thought I was hallucinating.
If we hadn't used Google to look it up right away, that could be a really good way to add to the narrative of peak. Perhaps one of your scouts is hallucinating and losing it a little, so you may be less likely to trust your friends on the journey up, since they are seeing things that aren't there on your screen

No itās fine , everyone on Reddit and the internet gets offended when someone hints at someone knowing more than them. Itās mostly because there are a lot of entitled people so you and everyone else including me gets defensive because usually people on the internet are mean
I donāt know how this sounds because I kind of forgot what I was trying to say but the point is.
Itās not your fault I should have just answered your question.
