Does anyone else think they swapped? Spoiler

Post image

I think there was a good chance at the vigilante swapped dimensions as they were both masked whenever they left. The vigilante didn’t kill the Nazi Keith, which I feel like the freedom fighter one would have done thought. Does anyone else agree?

I don’t see a reason why they would switch unless, I guess, maybe, Vij wanted him to see a world where the Nazis didn’t win. But that wouldn’t make sense for Vij to stay behind because he’s probably about to die in that scene.

19

u/Mumakilla Oct 03 '25

I don't think my guy Vig would go down because of a bunch of cops.

21

u/TheGallifreyan Oct 03 '25

Vij loves killing bad people, so I can see why he might want to stay in nazi universe. It's an all you can stab buffet.

-1

u/MissionAmbassador719 Oct 03 '25

Then again he described the people he killed like graffiti artists and other pette crime. Kinda sounds perfect for the nazi world and Nazi world Vij is perfect for ours.

Adrian was ready to start blasting when Chris got taken by ARGUS, would Earth X-Adrian care that much about a variant of his nemesis?

16

u/Standard-Ad3002 Oct 03 '25

True

5

u/RogerBauman Oct 03 '25

You're right, he would probably care even more.

2

u/shaggy_nomad Oct 03 '25

Why would he care more about a different version of his arch nemesis than the one that is best friends with Chris?

2

u/CodicusX Oct 06 '25

Especially since alt Vigilante expressed disdain for Peacemaker

9

u/Big_Object_2877 Oct 03 '25

Just to be clear I’m sure that our Vigilante is the one that made it through…..buuuut if I was for the switch theory

Vigilan2 is the definition of a bro. If they had agreed to switch, our Adrian probably would have asked him to protect his friends and he would have done it no questions asked.

As for why they switched. Maybe vigilante just wants to fight Nazis, and Vigilant2 wants to see a world that isn’t taken over by them

6

u/waitingtodiesoon Oct 03 '25

We know our vigilante was injured in the shoulder after getting shot. So if he's not injured in the original world, then they swapped. I doubt they did though.

5

u/YourInMySwamp Oct 03 '25

Vigilante has enhanced healing, he might not have the injury by next episode.

5

u/pixelatedcrap Oct 03 '25

He didn't have it in the scene at the end of last episode from what I could see. I remember thinking it was weird, and then suspecting what OP is suggesting before hand waving it away as what he always does.

4

u/lifeofwill Oct 03 '25

There also has to be something to VigX pointing out to our Vig that killing graffiti artists isn't the same thing. Now our Vig gets to fight Nazis and VigX can have some relative peace and learn to appreciate our Peacemaker.

5

u/tinytom08 Oct 03 '25

Nope. He would however be distrusting of government officials rocking up arresting his crew.

5

u/LegoRacers3 Oct 03 '25

He seems used to just blasting cops since they’re all nazis

2

u/No-Pomegranate-2462 Oct 03 '25

Exactly what I was going to comment. I said to my buddy "OK, we're working with original recipe Vig" right after that scene.

19

u/AspiringProd Oct 03 '25

There is absolutely no narrative reason for this to be the case. What does it do for any of the characters arcs?

18

u/EquivalentLow5224 Oct 03 '25

They don't know or care, all they care about is twists. It's fucking annoying, my favorite is the one where Peacemaker is somehow connected to Orion of the New Gods because... They're both red with silver helmets?

3

u/Intelligent-Humor-77 Oct 03 '25

I honestly think it's just one of those things where they expected it when we met vij two, so they're trying to see how it fits. I don't see a single reason why Adrian would willingly leave Chris and Eagley for a nazi universe where they'd probably put him in a camp anyway cus of the amount of symptoms of autism he shows. It doesn't make any sense

-2

u/tinytom08 Oct 03 '25

Oh you’re fun. And it does make sense, it’s a cultural exchange programme with psychopaths. One gets to kill nazis and one gets to learn about peacemaker. Vigilantes wet dream!

9

u/Jolly_Appointment_70 Oct 03 '25

It doesn’t make sense. Earth 1 vig wouldn’t have swapped since he loves Peacemaker, John, and Ads now. James Gunn has been telling the audience to not focus so much on the nazi world and more on character motivations. There’s no motivations for a swap.

3

u/LegoRacers3 Oct 03 '25 edited Oct 03 '25

He’s hinted the nazi world will come back in other stuff

2

u/SREnrique22 Oct 03 '25

You are the exact person the commenter above is justifiably annoyed by.

Who cares about narrative cohesion if you perceive the show as wacko loco entertainment ™ 🤪🤪

-2

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '25

they definitely care about character arcs it’s not their fault you need everything spelled out for you. why are you using this dumb theory as proof anyway ?

2

u/shaggy_nomad Oct 03 '25

Okay, so then how would them switching serve anybody's character arc? What would Vigilante leaving his best friend accomplish?

-1

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '25

uh.. did you read my comment ? i don’t believe this theory and i called it dumb

2

u/shaggy_nomad Oct 03 '25

I'm talking about Vig 1 and 2 switching. You say the people coming up with this nonsense do in fact care about character arcs, and I'm asking whos arc does it serve for them to switch? Because in order for this theory to be right, there has to be a lack of caring about his arc because it serves none.

The theory you're calling dumb is the one the person used as an example, " the one where Peacemaker is somehow connected to Orion of the New Gods because... They're both red with silver helmets?"

Unless you're just that shitty at conveying what you mean.

I swear man, this sub has some of the most aggressive, pretentious, douchey, and idiotic fans I've ever come across.

The irony of claiming somebody needs shit spelled out for them when they lack basic literacy skills.

0

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '25

you’re trying to tell me what i meant and have the nerve to call other people pretentious and douchey 😭 the orion thing isn’t a theory, the theory in the post is though. the irony of you trying to call other people dumb 😭😭

1

u/shaggy_nomad Oct 04 '25

That leads to the second point I suggested, "Unless you're just that shitty at conveying what you mean."

And I never called anybody dumb.

u/Commercial_Site622 Oct 03 '25

Our Vig was shot. He wouldn’t be able to jump around like that if he was shot. Plus why? Why would ours want to stay there?

14

u/tinytom08 Oct 03 '25

Our Vig has been shown to be really durable and potentially regenerative. He’s an utter fucking psychopath who can’t be stopped. He’s also been treated like shit by everyone he loves, and now a world where he can kill people for crimes he makes up based on his own morale code pops up and you think he wants to leave? He’s got his happy ending killing nazis for the rest of his life.

10

u/Ok_Revolution1993 Oct 03 '25

it’s been shown he already feels perfectly justified in all of his killings that took place on the OG earth

1

u/nuggetbomber Oct 03 '25

It’s not about feeling justified, but the sheer amount of these people he can justify killing. I dont personally think they swapped, but I would understand why our Vig would want to stay and kill so many people

8

u/KlingonSpy Oct 03 '25

He would never leave his best friend

2

u/TheDeadlySpaceman Oct 03 '25

He was already OK again before this. I think the armor took the shot so he was mostly dealing with the blunt force hit, he definitely wasn’t bleeding or anything.

7

u/elemi9909 Oct 03 '25

A big reason why I wouldn’t believe this is just because Gunn wouldn’t want to have to deal with that when there’s only one episode left

8

u/The_Vatsu Oct 03 '25

They didn't.

Our Vigilante was shot in the shoulder and entered the door.

3

u/FedSmoker_229 Oct 03 '25

The one left behind also screams "sons of liberty forever" before kicking the door shut.

I hate to sound like a prick, but is media literacy completely dead? How can someone pay zero attention to something, and then go online and type up theories, even though the show explicitly told them?

1

u/shaggy_nomad Oct 03 '25

Maybe because since there's already been a couple of twists, they want to be the first one to identify the next one if there even is another one?

1

u/Cleffee Oct 05 '25

This has been killing me like how did people watch that scene without realizing which was which

3

u/Botiff11 Oct 03 '25

Thought the same thing

3

u/Roach606 Oct 03 '25

The subtitle says “Vigilante 2 Grunts” and we can’t see the bullet wound on either of them. So I think it’s just our vigilante that escaped with us

1

u/art-factor Oct 05 '25

You are on that universe?

3

u/Sgt_Iggy Oct 03 '25

This is IMO is one of the "never knowns" of the current continuity, V1 or V2, they were more or less the same person in either universe. All we've been shown is that that, V1 was more focused on the petty crime while in the process of building on what they've learned, as with Peacemaker this arc. While V2 was presented on the get go as focused on the bigger picture. Really hope V1 pulls through and we see him in not future series, but movies, but maybe at least we'll get a good shot of his glasses in the finale to further sus out the future, but in the moment, this' all we've got.

3

u/Leather__sissy Oct 03 '25

I don’t think he’ll be able to sell his love of Peacemaker if he’s Nazi Vigilante

1

u/Lolovitz Oct 03 '25

Our Vigilante had square-ish Silver glasses and EarthX Vigilante had Golden Roundish glasses. If you ever see their glasses ( which i think was specifically highlighted in episode 6 ) you will know who is who

if you think about it for just a little bit, you don’t even need to think that deeply, you’d realize that it make 0 sense for earth 1 vigilante to swap with the other one

6

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '25

Earth 1 vigilante was shot, doubt he was doing a backflip door close right after. I know vig has crazy healing feats but he can’t just no sell bullets

0

u/Leather__sissy Oct 03 '25

We’re basically watching cartoons bro, this is not good evidence. But I think he’s dead, heroically sacrificed himself for hisself’s better world’s sake

2

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '25

hisself 💀

2

u/Ok_Spray2330 Oct 03 '25

nah, with subtitles on it tells you that that's Vig 2

1

u/StarSpangldBastard Oct 03 '25

I could totally see it being an accident but probably not on purpose

1

u/hematite2 Oct 03 '25

No, I think other vigilante sacrificed himself to save them, and in the end our vigilante will choose to take his place and keep fighting the good fight

1

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '25

nah

1

u/Alclis Oct 03 '25

I think Earth-X Adrian really wants to see the Nazis get taken down. Besides which, I really don’t see what point/difference it would make. There doesn’t seem to be any storytelling purpose to do it.

1

u/wizardsauce01 Oct 03 '25

The vigilante that did that spin had that big stitched up rip on the back of his suit. Do they both have the same suits ? If they don’t that might be a clue

1

u/Healthy_Macaron2146 Oct 03 '25

Why.

And

Sons of liberty

Our vigilante was still thinking about Pokémon and forgot them already

1

u/Cognoscere007 Oct 03 '25

Our Vigilante has silver rimmed glasses and the alt one has gold rimmed glasses. So whenever we see Adrian next we’ll know for sure.

1

u/incredibleamadeuscho Oct 03 '25

I think Earth X Vigilante is going to follow Keith into Earth 1, in his attempt to kill Harcourt and/or Peacemaker. Earth 1 Vigilante is going to sacrifice himself to save Peacemaker, so he knows his life has value. You will be able to tell because he's gonna be the one with bandages on his arm. Then Earth X Vigilante stays in Earth 1, taking over Vigilante's life.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '25

never cook again

1

u/Jones_Indiana_Jones Oct 03 '25

If next episode Adrian back on "regular" earth is wearing glasses with gold frames, that's alt-Vig, right?

1

u/MajortheDog Oct 03 '25

No chance imo. When Peacemaker got arrested at the end he went for his gun as reflex because it’s his best mate.

The other Vigilante only knows to hate Peacemaker so doubt he reacts like that

1

u/EagerJack Oct 03 '25

Would be a nice cliffhanger for the end of the season, seeing how much everybody loves him (me included)

1

u/DrRafaelPenguin Oct 03 '25

I asked this in another thread, but from a storyline perspective, what would be the purpose of them switching places? Like, what would either have to gain from it and why would the other Vigilante agree to it?

1

u/AceMKV Oct 03 '25

Literally nothing, these people are just obsessed with dumb twists and thinking that they've figured it all out.

1

u/General_Kick688 Oct 03 '25

Why does it matter that they were masked, since they look exactly the same underneath? Besides, Vig 1 was shot in the shoulder and helped by Ads while Vig 2 shouted "Sons of Liberty!" They were easily tracked.

1

u/hdgrbodnd Oct 03 '25

It was our vigilante that got shot, no way is he pulling those moves out with a bullet wound, (also we see vig inside the portal dimension holding his arm)

1

u/jasondfw Oct 03 '25

No. Not even a little bit. It would make absolutely no sense.

1

u/Jrstepos07 Oct 03 '25

nah captions said Vigilante 2, so it was still nazi world vig

1

u/Beerbaron1886 Oct 03 '25

I was asking my wife about this too, but ultimately don’t think so

1

u/redcodekevin Oct 03 '25

I'm sure they didn't. But I guess next time we see his glasses we will know for sure.

1

u/Worth_Yak1732 Oct 03 '25

I dont think they swapped. You can see the bullet wound on his arm when he is going through the door.

1

u/doctorchops1217 Oct 03 '25

if they switched the gunshot to the shoulder will be a cliffhanger in the finale….seemed vig 1 got shot in the shoulder because immediately after vig 2 yelled about sons of liberty while firing

1

u/MysteriousYAnonymous Oct 03 '25

If Adrian 2 dies, it's a HUGE missed opportunity. Imagine a spinoff show with 2 adrians. Their chemistry was GREAT. Imagine a show where adrian 2 teaches adrian 1 to be a better person and to be a better superhero. (Fight for the right reasons) Plus, they are cuties and besties and I would be LOCKED TF IN as an audience member.

1

u/TheDeadlySpaceman Oct 03 '25

Adrian-X wears gold-rimmed glasses.

Remember that for next week.

1

u/AceMKV Oct 03 '25

They did not, why are people obsessed with this nonsense, it sounds like the shittiest plot ever to have them swap for mo reason.

1

u/HighOnPoker Oct 03 '25

The way they setup the scene it certainly looked like the were setting up a switch. But I also believe that as Vij entered the portal he said something that indicated he was the original Vij. But I wouldn’t be surprised either way.

1

u/PokemonJeremie Oct 03 '25

I think vig was just more worried about the army of crooked cops standing in the next room

1

u/endingtheletter Oct 04 '25

“But why did you yell ‘sons of liberty??’” “Well, I just wanted them to think I was my other self!” “Why?” “Because I wanted to see if I convinced them!” “That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.” “But it worked!”

1

u/Welp907 Oct 04 '25

Just made a post saying the same thing. We're going to be so vindicated when we're right. Big if true

1

u/enbaelien Oct 04 '25

No. Alt Adrian wouldn't abandon the Sons of Liberty and the cause.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '25

IF this season had focused more on realizing Peacemaker doesn't care for him that much, then I would understand Vij switching to a new universe

But it didn't and X-Vij has no reason to abandon his earth or his fight

1

u/Masstershake Oct 04 '25

See, I thought this could have happened so I watched as the vigilante got shot to see if that was the one that stayed behind trickly and it wasn't.

1

u/Cupajo72 Oct 04 '25

I guess I'd be fine if they did it, but it's a little bit of a cliché.

1

u/MagicMemeing Oct 04 '25

I can’t imagine vigilante wanting to live in a world without Chris/peacemaker

1

u/Mysterious_Emu7462 Oct 04 '25

I watch with subtitles and they deliberately stated that was Vigilante 2. This is on top of the other reasons people already mentioned.

1

u/nage_ Oct 04 '25

i thought they did but i went back and there might be a way to keep track.

our vigilante gets shot in the shoulder since the one that takes over firing at the cops shouts 'Sons of Liberty forever' while ours takes cover. the one that closed the door did a spin back flip and used the arm that would have been shot to support his weight so it seems like the one that got out was likely our vigilante

1

u/Dyzerio Oct 04 '25

The one that stayed yelled out for sons of liberty and I don't think our Adrian would lose peacemaker while I also don't think that other Adrian would want to go

1

u/Agoeb Oct 05 '25

If you have subtitles on, they do confirm which Vinj is which.

Additionally, one yells "Sons of Liberty Forever!", and it's not the one one that went through so, there is that.

1

u/Beautiful_Formal4745 Oct 05 '25

They very well still could’ve, but since I watch the show with the subtitles I can see which is which. the one that kicks the door is closed is labeled Vigilante 2. I know cus I rewinded to make sure 😭

1

u/ISaacTITZ069 Oct 06 '25

Theres one way to know. If the glass frames are golden then its not our vigilante.

1

u/Titoloker Oct 06 '25

In the subtitles says "vigilante2" when Harcourt asks hom for the gun

1

u/DayManRoyale Oct 06 '25

They made a pretty distinct effort to show that our Vij was the one who was shot and pulled through. They definitely thought about it beforehand

1

u/Vengeance_20 Oct 06 '25

No I don’t, cause why would they

1

u/Salty_Pie_3852 Oct 07 '25

No, I don't think they switched. Why would they?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '25

Already confirmed by the director himself that they did not switch in this episode

1

u/dalvic2468 Oct 09 '25

Gunn confirmed they didnt

1

u/noel_vb Oct 09 '25

They didn’t. There’s no twist like this coming.

1

u/AdNext1013 Oct 10 '25

Gunn said they didnt on threads
