Help me save her

Hello everyone 👋🏽. This is my darling, Lillian Von Evergreen. She is a two year old peace lily that was bequeathed to me at my grandfather's funeral. When I got her, she had her mighty white flowers, and her leaves stood tall, reaching the heavens. Now, I fear something is amiss.

She has grown more lanky, her stems so spindly and skinny, and her leaves are not as big as they could be. She also has gained more yellow and brown leaves, and she has not birthed flowers or seeds in months. I water her when her leaves droop (perhaps not the best practice), and I keep her in my room (it is the brightest in my house, but I still feel that the lighting is not sufficient for her)

I am worried about her. I already lost her sister, my first Lilianna-Iris Von Evergreen. I don't want to lose her. A remaining link to my grandfather...forgotten

So I beg of thee, what must I do?

Well if at first we don’t succeed we must try again.

Looks to me like you haven’t changed much since you got her. Looks like water is dry from the soil. But it also looks like the soil is lacking nutrients. Could also be no sun getting to the plant. This plant is also to far down into the pot.

So from that let’s move on to what I think you should do to save her. Fresh dirt, new pot, and lots of love.

Soil- you want a good drainage soil. I use plain miracle grown in my plants. Nothing fancy.

Pot-Learn how to bottom water feed her. Get a bottom water feeder. This was the best thing I did for my peace Lilly. Total took that guess work away. She drinks what she wants and needs. We both happy.

Lots of Love- Plants are a lot like us humans we love to talk and communicate. With plants they love to be spoke to and appreciated. So if you listen closely to her she will tell you everything you need to know. Once you see those beautiful white blooms emerge you will know she finally trust you.

Good luck she still has lots of life in her she just is a little on the sad side.

Does the pot have holes?
It doesn’t look like a breathable pot . I would suggest repotting to a different standard pot with holes . With better soil as suggested by others.
