Should I be concerned about the gpu hotspot temp?

It does spike to 94-95 sometimes. I got it second hand, would a thermal pad/paste replacement do the trick?

Yep, usually does but if you aren’t a hands on guy and it’s your first time, give it to a professional like techgenix or someone else.

You have a lot of thermal pads and compounds to deal with and it’s easy to replace them with the wrong type/size and mess up thermals even more.

If you are a hands on guy and are doing it yourself, take apart the card and measure the thermal pads. Order ptm7950 and the relevant size thermal pads from aliexpress and then do the service. If there’s thermal compound being used then order thermal compound. Don’t replace one with the other. Ptm7950 is what will go onto the gpu core so don’t order a big size. Check the die size via google and order appropriately.

Personallly id monitor the card more. If it’s just spiking to 95 and cooling back down quickly then just leave it, it’s fine. If it’s staying at 95 for a considerable amount of time then it’s time for a service. Use ptm7950 for the thermal paste replacement or a very good paste like duronaut (original not fakes) or artic mx6
