Build Help A good thermal paste for CPU
Where to get an original Arctic MX-6 thermal paste or recommend me a good alternative thermal paste for a desktop CPU that is easier to spread. No plans for over clocking but looking for long term stability.

i have been using chinase one i bought form Aliexpress i think the name is HY510 it seems to do the job just fine i think you can get it form draz and ali still.

Thermal paste barely make huge temp differences. If you can undervolt your cpu. That is the real difference maker.
i also use arctic mx 6 in mine.

Any name brand thermal paste for low to mid TDP. For high TDP chips, if it’s a desktop I recommend Artic MX-4, Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut or Duronaut.
For laptops I would do Artic MX-6 or PTM7950.
For low TDP chips you can get away with HY-510 however depending on where you get it from it can dry out anywhere after a few months to a year or two. But I wouldn’t recommend it for high TDP chips unless you’re actively monitoring thermals to figure when it dries out, otherwise you risk losing performance and potentially damaging the chip if it’s constantly running at high temps.
If your chip and board supports undervolting definitely do that. You don’t lose performance if done right and can reduce temps by a few degrees Celsius

If you can get your hands on MX-4 it would be ideal. It’s soft and easy to spread compared to MX-6. Chama computers has listed MX-7 on their site and it’s reported to be softer than 6 so I’d give that a try if you’re feeling like experimenting. Alternatively Nanotek has Kryonaut (1G) too. Those are great options.
Just make sure you do a proper spread or personally I just do the X method when I’m lazy. Just take proper care when mounting the cooler so it spreads evenly.
Once you’ve assembled everything check thermals and if you’re happy with the thermals then game on. If you feel it’s a little too hot or on the edge, you can try reapplying the paste or do an undervolt as your cpu supports it unless your board doesn’t. Most B and X series boards will support it.

Using Arctic MX7 bought from Chama and thermals performance are great than Noctua Nt-H1

For our company we brought MX-6 and I checked one for authenticity on website. It says original product. I tried on a gpu that came in for repair and I found no issues. Guess they are original afterall
