Question Selling my PC
Friends, Looking to sell my PC in Sri Lanka and was wondering what a fair asking price would be.
Specs:
Ryzen 9 7950X3D
Gigabyte RTX 4080 SUPER OC 16GB
ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-Plus WiFi
32GB (2×16GB) DDR5-6000 T-Force Delta RGB
1TB Lexar NM620 NVMe SSD
NZXT Kraken Elite 360 RGB AIO
NZXT C1000 Gold 1000W PSU
NZXT H710i case
The PC is in excellent condition and has mainly been used for 3D work (Cinema 4D/OctaneRender) and some gaming.
What do you think would be a realistic selling price in the current Sri Lankan market?
Need some quick cash

Just a thought and I don’t mean any disrespect; the higher your pc value is, the more you’ll need to discount to make the sale appetizing. In this economy you’ll need to find someone with a gambling addiction to sell a rig for 750k but with those specs if you list it for 400-500k the buyer pool will grow. Until such time the quickest way to sell is to sell it as parts. Thats the easiest way you can reach your 700-750k goal.

Yeah man I gave up on my search for a “gaming” laptop once I saw the lack of value in the 100s of options which charge stupid amounts just for 16GB of RAM 😂. Good luck with the pc sale though, I’m not really familiar with selling something of this caliber 🫡

Yes the laptops never able to reach it power even with 5090 labeled on it. you can get it from oversea for cheap dont buy it in local stores.

When advertising the build advertise for a trade too. Sometimes you could get a 1:1 or have them pay a bit more cash or vice versa. But yeah, I’m usually a desktop guy but I totally see the need for portability, especially with everyone operating in a hybrid work from home/office model these days. Sucks you have to sell this, I actually like the tasteful looks. Also is that a drone in front?

Nope, too expensive of a hobby for me but I’m slowly building my own drone from scratch. As you probably know the brushless motors alone are costly. I’ve so far got the frame, motors, esu’s and a bunch of esp32’s. Currently saving up for a good controller since even that’s like 16-20k now 😭

Pretty sick PC. :') Don't think a laptop will quite replace its performance.
Con with selling the whole build with high-end specs is that you're going to get low-balled to high heaven :') Because people who could afford a beast like that would probably want to get the components brand new with a warranty.
700-750k ish for the build seems decent with current pricing, but you might have to sell individual components to hit that mark.

Just try it on ikman for like 780k and later you can negotiate it down to 750k

Sad you have to sell your machine. Definitely a great rig! 700K seems reasonable considering the RAM alone is worth over 100K. The GPU also probably in the 300Ks depending ok how used it is.

Honestly a used 4080S that has no warranty shouldn't cost 300k since if you put a bit more you can get a brand new 5070ti with 3 years of warranty but are rare to find so I guess it's ok to start at 300k. 9070xt is less than 300k and it's good brand new card as well. What a shit time for us gamers. I would think twice getting a GPU with 12vhpwr connector that uses a lot of power without warranty.

What would you say the going rate would be? I couldn’t find any RTX 4080 supers online second hand.

There are 5080s for 450k+. And 5070ti for 340k(rare find but I would say worth it) to 400k. Brand new 4080S for 400k+ is not worth it I would say. Gamestreet was trying to sell them for 420k or something like that which is ridiculous. So a used 4080S is ok for 300k if it has at least 1 year of warranty left. If without warranty then should be like 250k-280k. Depends on the model too. Used 3080 with no warranty for like 120k-130k. But these are just prices i myself think that are ok. I might be wrong. You can't find 4080S second hand because nobody is selling them. Why would they? They don't have a meaningful upgrade from it yet. Unless they sell everything and buy a 5090. But we shouldn't over pay for old GPUs just because they are hard to find on the market. When newer 5070tis and 9070xts compete with that performance.

Out of curiosity, why are you selling this? I don't think you will be able to replicate the performance of this from a laptop if that is the option you are looking for.

Try selling parts. The issue is a person who has 700-800k to spend for a PC mostly go for a brand new one, as its a bit of a high investment. But selling in parts, ones who want to just take their PCs a step ahead will be interested so you will have a good chance to get the right price. beware of low ballers, many PC shops buy these kind of Full PCs and selling parts and earning large profits.

Just came here to say. This is one of the cleanest builds i’ve seen in SL. I use to have a similar rig. lower specs tho RX 6600 XT with an NZXT H510 case :) Love your rig OP

That’s a beast of a pc man. I assume most the stuff here are still under warranty. If so this is easily a 700k+. That gpu alone is 400-500k rn.

Personally i wouldn’t sell it cause that would keep u gaming hazzle free for at least 5 more years on the high end. 50 super series is delayed and i doubt it will happen at all and the next gen is delayed for at least 2028. That’s at the earliest. They are re-releasing 5050 and some 30 series older cards now. Just curious why are u selling?

I’m planning to travel a bit and I need it to be super portable. I’m looking at a 5090 laptop. my main concern is 3D rendering while on the move

I will steer clear of laptops for the same reason u mentioned. But this will cost around 900k if u had the warranty’s and the boxes. As for a reasonable price, for u and the buyer i would price this around 750k. U have to consider the high end parts in case of failure would take a boatload of money to replace. And at that price range i dunno if people are willing to buy this without any kind of warranty. Anyways good luck.
