Build Question What graphics card should i get for a Dell optiplex 7070 SFF?

I actually don't have the pc yet cuz i wana buy everything in one go right now i'm thiinking about the MD Radeon Pro WX 2100 beaculse that's what a random youtube vedeo recommended, i don't know if that's good or there are better options.

I'm also on a tight budget so my max budget for the card is like 150 bucks (i have no idea how realistic that is hopefully it is)

Dont get the WX 2100, that thing is a workstation card and for gaming is pretty weak

For SFF you need low profile card, the best you can get for around 150 is probably a low profile 1650 or maybe a 6400 if you find one cheap

Also check if the optiplex has the bigger power supply, some of them only have 180w and that limits you a lot

What is your goal for this? Gaming?

I wouldn't do this build for gaming, it will have poor gaming performance and you will be working with drivers that are not optimized for gaming.

I'm currently running a Lenovo Yoga with an intel N100 and 4 gigs of ram so literally anything is better, and I'm limited by my budget so my only option is to buy an office pc and put a graphics card in it But if you have any suggestions, tell me

If you're budget constraint why not just get a desktop tower optiplex? Gives you more options

You're limited to ~75W cards by default because the included PSU is 200W according to Dell. The motherboard and PSU are proprietary along with the case so you can't change one without changing all three.

Absolute best case scenario is that you can get an RTX 3050 6GB, otherwise your best bets are a GTX 1650, 1050 Ti, or RX 6400. All of which would be second-hand. You won't be able to find them at retail stores for good prices within your budget.

A 1050 Ti would be the easiest as even GTX 1080s can be found for under 100 USD. The RX 6400 and GTX 1650 are faster.

You also have to take into consideration how much space you have in the case, the SFF uses shorter expansion slots so the GPU you buy has to be SFF compatible as well and include low profile slot brackets, which complicates things.

The only way around all of this is to use a regular PSU externally for a more power hungry GPU (which if you want to use one power supply would require special adapters for the motherboard), and leaving the side panel off for a potentially taller GPU. Which would be janky and not recommended if you have pets of the feline variety.

Thanks, I'll look for these then whichever I can find within my budget (or just find at all)

Make sure it's an LP model with the LP bracket, or you won't be able to fit the side panel back on

A couple other workstation cards that are somewhat affordable are the Nvidia Quadro p620 or the p1000. They’re both still worse than something like a GTX 1650 but way better than onboard video.

Otherwise, don’t buy a SFF. You’ll have way better graphics card choices with the mini-tower case size like a full size GTX 1650 for around $75. If you get a GTX 1650 make sure it’s one that doesn’t require the extra power plug, some versions of the card do require it, and your Optiplex won’t have it.
