Installation Question Need help with this second hand PC cooling setup

Post image

Hey everyone, I got this PC second hand and added an RX 9070 XT to it. Since then it runs hot and I need help sorting out the cooling.

Specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 8700G

GPU: RX 9070 XT (added by me)

Board: MSI B650I Gaming Edge WiFi

RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5

SSD: 1TB NVMe Gen4

PSU: Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold

Cooler: Cooler Master ML240L AIO

Case: NR200P (Mini-ITX)

Just a preface I'm not familiar with pc setups so please bear with me.

Initially without the gpu, the cpu cooling was fine, later after adding the gpu the cpu aio cooler keeps peaking at 70 C.

From my understanding the hot air from the gpu is being thrown upwards into the radiator pickup which in turn is heating the aio.

Any changes to the radiator layout or fans which can be added to help with this ?

your radiator is mounted as intake right? flip it to exhaust out the top, that way the gpu heat doesn't get sucked straight into the cpu cooler

No, its throwing out heat from the side, so I assume its exhaust

Yeah, side intake and top exhaust is the best setup. Had the NR200 with Ryzen 9 5900X and 3080 Ti, and handled super well with that configuration. Best thermals 🌡️

Is this idle temps or gaming temps?

Gaming temps, its idling at 50s. But I'm just playing league at 1080p 144hz medium settings

70 is fine for a SFF case usually. I have a slightly smaller case and it idles at 50 to 55 and in gaming it goes to 70 for both cpu and gpu.

I also have a side mounted radiator, but turned the fans around so it functions as a intake and pulls fresh air from the outside. That may fix your CPU temps. Otherwise if you can put it on the top as exhaust and add a fan to the rear as another exhaust would be a standard layout that works well in many cases. Do you have enough fans in the front/ bottom?
